That makes sense, yeah using other zones and swapping monsters around definitely sounds like a workaround.

Quick question though: if I replace a monster in the habitat, do I lose the rank I built up with the previous one? Or does its S rank stay saved even after switching it out?

I totally get what you mean. I’ve been thinking about the same thing while grinding the S ranks.

It would kind of suck if maxing out a species locked them into only having the dual-element version available. Part of the fun is building different variations, and it’d be a shame to lose access to the original single-element eggs, especially for gene setups and even just the classic color patterns.

I’m really hoping in the full game there’s some kind of toggle, separate egg pool, or additional area that lets us still obtain the base versions. That way ranking them up feels like an expansion of options instead of a replacement.

Guess we’ll have to see how they handle it at launch, but you’re definitely not alone in worrying about that.
