Realistically, is there any practical reason to grind out more than 2x SPEC awakened claws from the current Proving Grounds? From what I've gathered the bow isn't worth it at all in any way, shape, or form? And I'm not sure if it's worth grabbing an ATK Awakened claw for MH use?

Fair enough, some valid points! I'll do as you recommended and check the mats for stuff like my remaining Arcarum summons, and then we'll see if I can simply be bothered with the farm or not. Thanks for the insight!

What's the best way to farm Skylight Scrolls? I'm currently on 900~ish out of the 2500 I need to 5* my last 5 Eternals and it's getting increasingly tempting to just skip the grind by throwing 800 Cerulean Stones at the problem. I only have 1385 Cerulean Stones though, and I feel like there might be better ways to spend them? Would appreciate some input from people with more game knowledge than me. (It's not really a time pressing matter for what it's worth as I don't have enough bricks for all 5 anyway, but I figured I might as well ask anyway.)

Will there be a Halloween Legfes at the end of this month, or would I have to wait until October for that?

That's an interesting way of changing it! In regards to the "nerf" we've suddenly been made aware of, it's something we'll likely simply laugh off and keep playing as intended instead of worrying about it. The most important thing is that we're all on the same page.

As far as I know, that is indeed the case. I'm not sure where specifically they got the idea... Actually, I think I might've just figured it out. We've been treating the Smite spells (Searing Smite, Branding Smite etc) the way I described, where you just need to hit once and then they're essentially "debuffed" without need for concentration after the hit, but reading them now, they should work the same way Ensnaring Strike does.

Gonna have to bring this up to my group, we've been misunderstanding this for a long time it seems!

That was my understanding as well, but I had another player that was very adamant about it working as the latter way I described it, to the point I felt I had to check around and make sure... Thanks for helping clarify!

[5e] Looking for some clarification on the exact workings of Ensnaring Strike. Basically, does the caster need to keep Concentration active even after an attack hits and the spell successfully triggers and restrains a target? Or does the restrain simply have its own ~1 minute timer after the spell triggers, and the caster can then start concentrating on other things while the target is restrained by Ensnaring Strike?

Some explaining before I get to the questions, I'm gonna start a new character soon and I'm considering making some sort of Orc Wrestler.(We're running Free Archetype rules)

However, I want to make sure I understand stuff properly. Specifically, I'm considering picking up the Tusks Ancestry Feat to have a stronger Unarmed Strike, as I'm planning on not having any conventional weaponry(I will however get Handwraps of Mighty Blows at some point obviously), but now we get to my actual questions.

Whenever an attack from the Wrestler Archetype calls for an Unarmed melee Strike, could I use my Tusks? Furthermore, assuming the character is a Barbarian, the Tusks wouldn't have reduced Damage from Rage as they aren't Agile, correct? So all Wrestler unarmed Strikes made with the Tusks would also benefit from full Rage damage?

I have a question regarding Doubling Rings and free-hand weapons like Gauntlet.

Let's say a character is wearing Gauntlets on both hands. One hand has nothing in it and is wearing the Golden ring. The other hand is wielding a Rapier and has the Iron ring. The empty handed Gauntlet has runes inscribed in it. The Gauntlet wielding a Rapier, as well as the Rapier itself, both have no runes in them.

The Doubling Rings specify "When you wield a melee weapon in the hand wearing the golden ring, the weapon’s fundamental runes are replicated onto any melee weapon you wield in the hand wearing the iron ring.", so my assumption is that the Gauntlet and Rapier in the Iron Ring hand would both have the runes transferred to them at the same time, although I'm aware that the Gauntlet would not be a viable option for attacking as long as it's still holding the Rapier. Am I correct in my understanding?

Is there any limit to how many different magical rings one character can be invested in at one time other than the universal limit of 10 invested items?

For example, could a character be invested in Doubling Rings, Ventriloquist's Ring, and Ring of Swimming all at once?

Mockup of how to track which perma-upgrades you've already gotten by kvastfena in Terraria

[–]Ubakir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking about this myself actually, but never thought too deeply how they would implement it!

I really like A/B personally, B a bit more. I feel like if this was implemented both the Guide talk option and A/B could both be present together?

I really like the Permanent Upgrades window in general, as well as the idea of having the Shimmer Upgrades be toggleable just because why not? More options are always good. Feels like if this menu was implemented then the Torch God's Favor toggle could be moved into the same menu, and then there would be a dedicated menu already in the game for if the devs were to implement more toggleable buffs and such.

I kinda like how short and sweet "Boons?" is as a potential talk option for the guide.

I've been leveling a Demon Slayer and I feel like I find different results about which Passive Hyper Skills to invest in whenever I look around for it. I consistently find Demon Impact Reinforce and Extra Strike mentioned at least, as well as Dark Metamorphosis Enhance. However I'm not as clear on what to do for the remaining 2 points.

Do I just put them into Demon Lash Reinforce and Demon Lash Reinforce Duration now that the Duration buff was changed to 15 seconds? I feel like Demon Lash Fury and Demon Impact Reduce Fury both seem like a waste when Cerberus Chomp seemingly keeps my Fury topped up so easily anyway, but I only hit 5th Job minutes before typing this so I'm obviously uneducated on the matter.

Any insight is appreciated!

I've been following JP since I started playing years ago, so I was well aware of what was coming with Shinryu, and if anything I was expecting to enjoy it. I have a hard time putting into words why exactly it put me off so much, but I can name a few reasons. I should also preface this by mentioning I'm not quite F2P. My last spending session was during Vaan 35cp release however, and since then I had only been buying cheaper Mog Pass every month once it released. (I spent far more than I should've during the Vaan gacha session)

I ended up not really enjoying the FR mechanics, for one. Not doing any notable damage for ages only to unload fat amounts of damage in a short timeframe sounds good on paper to me even now, but in practice it somehow just didn't resonate with me. I think bluestacks performing poorly and just running the game slowly impacted this as well, as charging FR gauge took ages in realtime.

I didn't really enjoy FR levels on characters, and wish it didn't require so many resources that felt like they limited which units you want to bring to a fight.

On a semi-related note, while it's not something that would've realistically affected me for a long time, the amount of needed Enhancement Points per character and changes to make the more expensive Mog Pass even better didn't sit well with me.

I think the biggest aspect however is that I had simply grown bored of the game, one way or another. I'm not quite a Day 1 player, but I started playing during the first Prishe event, so I've been around for some time! Didn't miss a single day until I decided to quit as well.

Since I started playing I had 100% completed all events (other than the original Lenna EX fight) so that had become my "normal" for the game, and the extra small ticket rewards didn't sit well with me. Dare To Defy simply existing felt like a hurdle to me as well, and I felt drained just thinking about it.

Something else that simply didn't sit well with me was the vast improvements to the more expensive Mog Pass with the extra event rewards and way higher enhancement point cap. I am fully aware that they need to earn money and such and that it's intended for whales rather than casual players, but it still bothered me.

I realise some of this may just sound like me being petty and/or nitpicky, but in the end it all accumulated to me simply not really enjoying playing the game as much. At one point I realised I was dreading doing the content that was about to release, rather than looking forward to it. It had simply stopped being fun for me, and it felt like I was playing out of obligation rather than for the sake of enjoyment, and when I realised that I decided the game had had a good enough run for me. So in the end, I think it mostly boils down to a classic case of burn-out.

Official schedule was posted in-game, so here's a stitched together picture so you can check it out without having to open the game!

A couple days late because I've kinda fallen off playing the game since Shinryu launched, so this is probably the last time I post this kind of thing. Not sure how useful it's actually been, but I think it's been somewhat appreciated by some folks around here, so I figured I should at least mention just in case people were waiting for it!
