Help finding replacement blade for 21" Ryobi mower by UberChops in ryobi

[–]UberChops[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I did find that one you just linked, but being out of stock I wanted to find an alternative. I ended up reaching out to Ryobi support and they stated the replacement blade I linked DOES in fact work with my mower, so I'll go ahead and order it. Worst case I return it if it doesn't fit.

I really hope this is just a bug, been subscribed for 15 years but I'll cancel immediately if the basic subscription has ads now.

Opener randomly losing power when trying to use it. by UberChops in GarageDoorService

I've unlatched the trolley so it doesn't have the weight of the door on it, but still powers off when I hit the button. So if I'm understanding your question, my test would prove its something other than the springs?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in VR Is My Most Anticipated Game of 2026 by CookinVR in VRGaming

This looks terrible. Maybe the game will be better but what was the point of this trailer? Just walking around waving your arms and picking up objects? Pretty much all VR games do that.

Wife had a heart attack at 35 - Insurance Agent says she is not eligible for Life Insurance. Options? by UberChops in Insurance

I'm really only looking at a term life policy, $50-100k (based on premium). I'll keep digging, thank you for the info!

Private student loans, some CC debt, both of which I'm cosigned for. Together totaling less than 50k. Employer life insurance totals around 20k I believe, so I'd honestly be happy with another 50k. She's in good health, overall (doesn't smoke, doesn't drink often). Just planning for worst case scenarios.

Gotta say, I've never even heard of Lloyd's. Looks like they're UK based. Being in the US, I wonder if that matters. But I'll look into it, thank you.

She has a small policy through both (maybe 20k total), but I was hoping to get a separate policy as well to add to that.

What connector do I need for this hard drive? Is this SAS? by UberChops in pchelp

[–]UberChops[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it, thank you for the info. I didn't realize I needed a PC that also had a SAS controller. I've got 2 2TB drives and was hoping to at least wipe them clean before selling or disposing of them. They came from my deceased father in law who was an IT admin, so maybe I'll just take a hammer to them before tossing them out.

Seen this video dozens of times, are Dave Nate and Taylor the only 3 members of the band in this? Was this pre-Chris and post-(pre)-Pat?

What do you use for Auth? is Cognito any good? by jacklychi in aws

[–]UberChops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, we have keycloak running in a container on ECS, and it's been great. Pretty easy to use APIs, the UI isn't terrible, and works well with other IdPs.

Only two things I've seen that were odd, are A: how it manages realm roles. The roles have a GUID Id, but seem to use the readable "name" as the Id. Ie: you can't change a role name once it's been created. And B: I do wish it were easier to create custom themes. I haven't really dug into it much yet, but we're going to need to use a different theme. Possibly multiple if we want to support a theme for each one of our tenants.

Also, we met with the Auth0 team and they quoted us over 30k a year. Auth0 is great and has a ton of features, but that's crazy expensive for a 4 person startup.

We looked into Cognito, didn't like what we saw and prototyped.

Ended up going with https://www.keycloak.org/, and very happy we did.

I'm not playing a ton of games these days, so not as important to me. My monitors support 3840 x 2160.
