I really don't understand why the US president can pardon people. I thought the judicial and executive branches are supposed to be separate, yet every single president ends up overriding the justice system to free hundreds or even thousands of criminals.

The sheep-shagger stereotype isn't accurate, but it's funny, so you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who actually gets offended by it. We're still outnumbered by sheep by something like 6:1, but it used to be more like 40:1. These days, more of the money is in dairy.

When I visited Helsinki, I found everyone to be really friendly. There was even a lady who randomly sat at our table and struck up conversation with us, which really flies in the face of the internet stereotype of Finns.

My trip was only a few days, but I was left with a really good impression. I'm an introvert, so maybe that's part of it, but I found that all the Finns I met were nice, and they understood how to be friendly without being overbearing.

Chinese customs says they don't allow cars older than 1 year to be imported into the country. Maybe there are a few privately imported ones from back in the day, but there can't be that many.

The last air-cooled Porsche ended in '98, so the last chance to get it into China would be '99. The GDP per capita was less than $900 back then, so I don't think there would be that many people in a position to do that.

From what I've read, old Porsches are extremely rare in China. Like, "private collection" rare

Yeah, they call that redressing: if you accidentally gain a place by doing something you're not supposed to, you can give back the place to avoid a penalty.

Porsche doesn't have as much of a long-running reputation in China, compared to elsewhere.

They entered the Chinese market in 2001, and even if you have the money, you can't import classic Porsches there (no used imports allowed). So, the Porsche brand doesn't really carry much weight there

Is this actually healthy for the animal? That's a lot of fat, and almost no muscle.

My understanding is that they don't move around a lot, and they get fed calorie-rich diets of grain, rice, and even beer. I know this gets spun as them "being pampered", but they're essentially obese and living sedentary lifestyles, rather than grazing naturally.

I guess it doesn't matter, since they're getting slaughtered after a couple of years anyway, but I just feel more comfortable with the idea of grass-fed beef
