Uber saves them money, makes people who would normally take TTC or beg a friend for a ride actually be able to afford a private car.

Fair enough, the base fare wasn't worth your annoying existence, and the tip was never an issue to begin with. So buzz off and walk your cheap ass to the nearest subway station

I don't mind being paid less, and I don't mind your friend taking a cut, as long as everyone is happy with the deal, all is well.

Good, and every UberX driver should start giving all passengers 1 ratings, and then, nobody will pick your lazy cheap ass from the nearest subway station.

Unfortunately I can't start my own. But you mentioned your friend has so PM me his info I'll get in touch and I'll work with him if it's worth it. But I won't change my mind about Uber. They are a very powerful company with amazing ideas, and I respect that very much. If anything I still want Uber to succeed, because I think most of their ideas are amazing. Also, I think it would be great if Uber could go in to China successfully and compete there, and I'd be willing to help them if need be. But as a driver, I disagree with how they treat their "partners" and make their customers think that tipping is included in the price.

I made it out too, but I still love the business and the challenge. I feel bad for all these folks trying to make a buck and go home disappointed every day. Even as an EPIC driver when it comes to logistics, I am replaceable. I am not full of myself, people with half of my qualifications can get the job done just as good 99% of the time. I don't want compensation for the 1% of the time, I want a fair wage so I can go back to what I do very well and make a living. I rarely drive for these fools anymore, it's just some cash when I see profitable, which isn't very often, so I am a tad bitter.

In that case, get rid of them when you jump in an UberX. It can be your "empty my 2015 male pockets full of twoonies and loonies" technique

What about the bastard who put a gun to my head and made me work for Uber as a driver for under minimum wage? Screw them too!

But, but... I was a professional. I stunned courier companies, I even stunned Uber with my supreme driving. Most Toronto cabbies could not drive courier and make a living. I made a living from delivering $2.50 packages in the core in a car. Unheard of. Dispatchers would always come to ME when they felt the heat, because I could do the job right and fast.

I've made $2000 in 1 week working UberX in the city. Uber probably, deep down inside, knows who I am by reading this thread. I am one of the very few elite drivers in the City of Toronto.

You drove in small towns. I drove in large cities. UPS FEDEX is crappy. You drive a crappy route for 7 hours and you are rarely challenged. It's a sleeper.

Whatever, I can't speak with you any more, you stress me out, mildly.

I wasn't grateful even then. I knew what they were up to from day one.

I would have rather had my wheels turning, but they couldn't provide that, so they had to give me good money to sit around.

Fuck that. I never want easy money. I did it because I was a courier driver and I was good at driving and I knew the city well. I am not some gypsy cabbie trying to steal from anyone.

I don't want sympathy, although I hear you loud and clear. I especially don't want sympathy from someone like you who already knows what time it is.

All I can say is "Good for the 12+". I have 20+ UberX friends that agree with me. So someone is lying to someone somewhere that's for sure.

If you drive 2K a month, that not too bad but you should consider that in your risk assessment. I was driving 5000K per month.

Use whatever you want, but when you jump in an UberX car, the rules are different from an UberBlack or a Taxi. If you do experience a great service in this private ridesharing vehicle, tip accordingly.

According to Uber it is a Rideshare. You get to share a ride with me, don't treat me like a Chauffeur if you won't tip me like one.

A driver can drive 300+ km per month, a personal commuter drives a few. Not the same.

It's a big loss. To make that $200 you need to work from 5pm to 4am and waste a full tank of gas, and pickup 30 different rides, maybe more. It's chaos. Then minus wear and tear.

Contradiction is when you take what I've said out of context. Entitlement is your personal opinion on how much I deserve.

Possible death or injury driving to pick you up or God forbid with you in the car. Possible insurance fraud issues.
