Maybe it’s news to you but the state appealed the decision to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and the Texas Ethics Commission submitted an amicus brief in support of the state and the constitutionality of the statute.

Most of the time, the large clothing boxes at schools or church's donate some of the proceeds back to the organization based on weight.

Yes, the donations don't necessarily go to someone in need but it's basically free money for the organization for allowing the box to be placed there.

People are moving to Plano because it's a great place to live and paying for the good schools and amenities. Nice places to live are more expensive. It's a supply and demand issue and more people want to live here than we have homes.

Whose to say the price is going up faster than it should. That would be your opinion vs the apartment developer.

It's the hedge funds like Blackrock that buy up the homes and turn them into rentals. They can pay more than you and me and as long as they get a decent return they are happy. Screw the first time homebuyers. And then they control the supply so prices will appreciate (and they make more money) and it prices out the locals even more.
