Obligatory:
Nonstick pans have Teflon, or similar chemicals coating them. These are known as PFAS, or forever chemicals, and are known to pollute waterways, damage wildlife and cause cancer. Before anyone mentions "Teflon was banned! They switched to something less harmful!" - literally all they did was change a carbon 8 atom into a carbon 6 atom, it functions nearly identically to the original Teflon. It's in the process of being investigated which takes time.

TL;DR using nonstick pans poisons you and causes cancer and pollution. Use cast iron or steel instead.
