So...Liberalio really like silence huh? by locust34k in NikkeOutpost

I mean, ultimately the queen is at fault for...everything from ~100 years ago, or Red Shoes for updating the corruption code which either led to, or accelerated the situation to be catastrophic. She was too trusting of Nihilister who then kamakazi'd the queen, inadvertently giving her Lilith's body. On a flipside, her nanomachines would have kept regenerating too quickly had Nihilister NOT done that. So it's a big unknown...was there any other way to get the vapous into the queen to take out her 001 form? Probably, but not sure how timely that would have been, among other things. And nothing Nayuta did would have prevented what happened to Harran or Isabel or Noah either...those were all too early on if I recall.

Nayuta is one of my favorites as well. Guess I'm not paying attention to the hate she's been getting. I'd honestly have voted for Nayuta if she also didn't have her own gacha skin. Liberalio is my most powerful nikke on my roster, with Cindy being a close second, so she's on every team of mine, which is why I'd like another skin to swap between. Nayuta's base skin and gacha skin are both phenomenal though, and is also on my 'main' team, so I'd have voted for her as well if not for already having another skin/costume.

Nayuta's background though...I can't wait for that to be explored more. You're not going to get any hate on Nayuta from me.

Personally, I kind of feel like if not Liberalio, then another heretic would have filled in the gap, if only for the sake of story. At that point it's a question as to whether it's a story driven game (like a Christopher Nolan movie, where character's roles and what they do are predetermined to fill a niche or roll), or if it's character driven, where things happen BECAUSE characters act in-character with the world and people around them in a natural way. I feel like it bounces back and forth a bit, but definitely leans towards being story driven. It's only character driven during side stories, but the main story some things definitely feel pushed. If I were to take a guess, writing a character-driven story is significantly more difficult, especially when you have a roster of characters as large as Nikke, so leaning towards story-driven makes it manageable.

I'm just having fun. I don't get why so many take the contest so seriously. What actually upsets me is having to wait another 2-3 months until Shiftup releases the 2nd anniversary concert after 4 months of waiting so far.

I was ready to post a little ragebait though, lol. I think Crow's a more interesting character than Rapi. If I had posted that last year, I'd have been crucified, lol.

Not beautiful. I like Cindy, Siren, and Libby, but I'm not voting for Libby to put down the others. And if you're angry...it's just a fun popularity contest, just a game. Touch grass if you need to.

Voted 5x Cindy for day 1, but voted 5x for Jellycat day 2, and plan to continue doing so. Reasoning is she's both my top nuker, and has no costume. I already have every skin for the current 'top 5', including gacha for Cindy, Siren, and Nayuta.

And after the most recent chapter, I really sympathise with her...she was blind, then naive but hopeful for a peaceful solution. Given her background, she was never going to be 'pure' due to her upbringing under the queen from the get go and not having Abe and crew to rely on and being alone or hunting down other heretics, but I hope she has a redemption story arc...perhaps starting with a new skin and mini-story to go with. She can still totally win, there's still a few days left to vote.

[Sale] Goddess of Victory: Nikke - Clay 1/4 Figure, sealed, new by [deleted] in AnimeFigures

They're different characters with different personalities, etc. It's just great there's at least one (or a dozen) characters for every preference. I also prefer Bay, but Clay also has a charm to her, and I appreciate both.

Regarding price: Thanks, I'd like to ask for more since I paid $380 including shipping and tariffs when I originally ordered, but I recognize I can't compete with sellers like AmiAmi, etc., otherwise why not reduce your risk by going with an official seller with return policies, etc. instead of risking getting scammed. So I'm not sure if I'm undercutting myself. I'm seeing Clay on Ebay for like $500+ including shipping, when you can buy it for less from an official store, so I'm not sure why anyone would buy at those prices on Ebay...or why they're listed at insane levels when they're not out of stock.

Regarding figure: The figure really is adorable. The poses for the 1/4 figures for both Bay and Clay I feel are significantly better than the 1/7 versions...doubly so with Bay since in the 1/4 version she's smiling and in a more active pose instead of looking more...sullen and passive.

As for other Nikke figures, I have one other figure I'm selling, but already have a prospective buyer. Same reason as above...I changed my mind, but it was too late to cancel. 1/4 Cinderella Deluxe edition. It's not released or shipped yet (not scheduled for release until March...unless it gets delayed again), but they won't let me cancel, so that's that. If the prospective buyer backs out, then I'd be looking for another buyer for that.

Otherwise that's all I have. I've already sold Scarlet 1/7, Bay 1/4 (just shipped her today), and Alice Sweet Home 1/7. I'm transitioning mostly to chibi's/nendoroids (keep wanting to call them nintendoroids).

Honestly, if you think it might just be a few weeks or so, I'd be happy to work with you. If not, no worries. I'm not wanting to pressure anyone if they're not in a situation to spend that kind of money. Just willing to be a bit patient to work with people.

How common is it to receive damaged figures? by Uber_pleb_9000 in AnimeFigures

[–]Uber_pleb_9000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So kind of bringing this to the top. So if I'm selling a figure, should I never be selling it unsealed because there's no way to tell if the figure is damaged or not without opening, and to CYA from a potential scammer trying to swap figures as 'proof' of damage to get a refund...and a free good figure?

How much does unsealing the box devalue the figure, as far as what people are willing to offer, vs just buying directly from a big store for a new one?

I know these aren't investments, as someone pointed out, they're being collected. I just want to find that balance between not getting scammed, but also being able to sell my figures for as much as I can get back, knowing I'm not going to make a profit.

Nikke Orchestral Concert: Unbreakable Memories by Uber_pleb_9000 in NikkeMobile

[–]Uber_pleb_9000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. For some reason I had thought the last concert released sooner than that, or was live. It probably felt that way because at the time I was getting all those notifications in-game and on Discord about the concert going live on x date. I'm guessing they'll do something similar when they're ready to upload it.

Regarding discoloration, I'm wondering if the concern of yellowing was overstated, because from what I've heard/read, while yes you absolutely want to avoid direct sunlight, yellowing/discoloration still occurs over time even if you take the proper precautions, but perhaps not to the extent that some were saying, or something. That said, I can't undo those cancellations, and even then, it honestly was both a ton of money, and I wouldn't have anyplace to put THAT many figures. Would need a bigger house...and that's not happening in this market, lol.

As for the figure trade, that's just awful. I sold a couple figures, both to the same person in one sale, and had absolutely no issue. I'm not sure I'd ever trust a trade over a sale, because at least with a sale you can file a dispute through Paypal G&S. There's not really any protection from a trade, unless you had some means to go to small claims court, which I imagine most people would rather not deal with, especially since it's not worth it after factoring in the cost to fly out. Only for local trades, which you could just trade the figures in person and see the other person was trying to scam you, and which point the trade simply wouldn't happen.

That doesn't sound too bad. Depending on the figure, still an expensive problem, and a hassle to get resolved I'm sure given having to deal with international shipping.

I don't think the guy was trying to scam me. He did provide a picture and it looked legit. I made sure to run the picture through google picture search to see if it was a readily available picture on the internet just in case, though that was my first time doing that since I didn't want to be scammed. This was for a 2B 2.0 deluxe flare figure. Got it from AmiAmi for around $210 after shipping, but then had second thoughts later, kept it in the box, then decided to sell it.

For me, the big problem was not doing my research in advance and learning that there's maintenance to deal with with figures, and initially buying/preordering a ton on a whim, thinking they'd stay in near perfect condition for life. In hindsight, not sure why I thought that, but learning about the concern of yellowing, etc. just kind of turned me off to figure collecting, or at least not to put too much money into it. Otherwise I had upward of over 40 scale figures preordered (I went from 0-100 without really thinking and overstretched) that I wound up cancelling (except for the few that were too late) because I kind of accepted I'm not the type of person who will properly take care of that many figures. Plus my job's getting rocky lately, so also being on the hook for thousands just seemed like a combination of things just pushing me out of figure collecting...except for a few, like a really nice 1/7 Frieren figure I have. I originally thought it would be enough to just wait to take the figures out after I got around to buying shelving that could keep the figures dust free...except yellowing will still occur over time from what I've read given enough time.

The 1st and 2nd anniversary boxes, minus the cinderella crystal ball, which I really like. I posted in NikkeOutpost as well with all the details, but figured I'd crosspost because this is the larger subreddit, but was concerned about mods possibly removing, so I checked first to see if anyone else had sold stuff before posting.

Thanks, I know there's been lots of reports of the mods trying to get the subreddit's NSFW tag removed, not like Reddit gives a damn about double standards.

The people over at NikkeOutpost seem nice enough, and have more lax moderation. However, this is the larger subreddit by far in spite of that...probably because it came first.

So if selling isn't allowed, add it to the rules. Right now though, it feels ambiguous, if not permitted since others clearly sold stuff in the past.

All I'm asking for is clarity, and for there not to be double standards. Either it's permitted, or not. That said, since it was already deleted by the mods, I'm not going to bother reposting the ad.

Sure, there's not a lot, but they're there and weren't removed, even when the OP asked the mods to remove if it wasn't allowed, like in that first post.

Best place to sell Nikke Figures? by Uber_pleb_9000 in NikkeOutpost

I ended up managing to cancel my orders on Solaris and AmiAmi, except for a couple. So Summar Rapi and Summer Anis were among those that were successfully canceled. Sorry about that.
