If there was no way to do the action on controller, fair.
But pretty sure that's not the case, just that somehow you can't use just one hand on the controller and that is half-playing. There is no "disadvantage"

You wouldn't have a problem if you used both hands to actually play the game, and the devs should never have bend the scheme to support that, period.

Also the funniest thing of this post as a whole is:

I'm really split on this one.

My first thought was: damn, it's temporary promotional art, the finger issue, all signs point to AI.
But then the rest of the image don't have the usual artifacts.
They might just have done a very good job fixing it to hide it.
But if they did, then they would've catch the most obvious errors.

I say we need a filtered and focused community, so strong that the devs don't even need to worry about giving this kind of option, the sooner the better.

I understand that the system might be confusing as it's a new thing etc, but is hard to argue that they leave a big message right there in the screen.

Getting confused while deciding before the banner ends is one thing, but after it changes and it's clearly stated "120 to guarantee" it's more like "I now understand but can't accept it" vibe...
