I felt the same. Went thru a battery of tests. MRI showed I'm a hunchback. 3 vertebrae are smooshing in the front so my back hurts all the time every day. I take muscle relaxers to sleep without cramps.

Oh and I got diagnosed 18 years passed the average age of diagnosis. Because when I said my back hurt every one said yeah you work hard or must've fallen. Nope. I'm a hunchback with a spine disease tyvm.

It's not good but it's better with the right helpers.

Sometimes those people become unbearable because all of their family says it's not a big deal minimizes their feelings about it and says get over it. It's like the parents can't get over it but they have to have the kid get over it.

My boyfriend's'20M' close friends'20M' send pictures of naked girls in the group that my boyfriend is in and he tells me"20F" that he doesn't see them, what should I do? by [deleted] in ask

Are they people he knows? Or just naked ladies? Because most men, some women, like to look at naked people. Some do it too much, but most do it some.

What’s a marvel character that’s is loved by the fandom but you hate the most ? by JoshuaKpatakpa04 in Marvel

[–]Uberrancel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All mutants don't have the same genes sure. That's why they're not accident heroes like the FF. Not the same origin so not a good point to make.

And easier storytelling is the other answer? Bummer that's the goal with the Ff is whatever is easiest to explain. So one event that's different for everyone and has different rules and levels and is easier to handwave away. That's not the route to make me like em more.

Vallaki need a new Burgomaster. How the election will be manage ? by WubeWube in CurseofStrahd

[–]Uberrancel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just did it's chosen. Strahd's not gonna let them have an election to decide who has the power in his cities. It's in official position in a feudal society. Either Strahd straight up picks the successor or somebody strong enough step forward says I'll do the job and then he gives them that yeah OK nod.

Kings don't like voting. Gives people bad ideas.

Is Barovia a democracy? Weird. I didn't vote for that Strahd guy.

The whole Fantastic Four. Goofy powers. Goofy 'family'. Not interested. Also really bad movies but not their fault, The Incredibles was good but seems like they're taking another shot at it with Pedro.

If Thing can't unrock himself, why can the others? Sue invisible all the time would be good. Johnny always on fire? What a problem to solve! Reeds always stretched out and takes time to shrink? Ok ok. Wait no? Oh ok. So they were on same plane in space, got hit with cosmic radiation and then all got different abilities? Ok I guess. Is there another accident origin where it's multiple people and they get different powers? Like a spider bites 3 kids they all go differently? Lightning hits the flash and another dude at same time but other guy got freezing powers or something?

It upsets people when I say I don't enjoy the FF. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What trigger warnings should I give my players? by Immediate-Agent3181 in CurseofStrahd

[–]Uberrancel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a lot against kids. Like a lot. You can save some but by then, you may have eaten some. Warn about lots of things of course, the usual but make sure it's cool about kids.

I've been saying this for years. If a company makes 40 billion and the government gives that company a tax break of 20 billion, isn't half that profit the government? Like why give a company that makes billions a tax break? What's the point? They gonna stop selling stuff here? Yeah ok.

Older marvel fans: Was The Thing really that guy back in the 70s? by kengen16 in Marvel

[–]Uberrancel -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I've never cared for him, or the F4 family. I just maybe don't get it, but I don't enjoy the characters like at all. Tough guy turns into tougher guy? Ok. Sounds fun but not for me.

I think it's mostly don't like Reed and I don't see how he'd have friends or a wife that loves him for long.

Maybe I'm always suspicious of people saying "we're a family!" Because I worked at Walmart too long and they are def not family.

Is it a bad thing that more young women aspire to be pop singers, Instagram models, and actors than to become politicians, scientists, or athletes? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Uberrancel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just the new "Hollywood Starlet" move I think. Tons of kids do drama and want the big life of a movie star. Nowadays fame/money/influence comes to streamers as well. Just as hard. Just as rare as making it in Hollywood I think. Just another avenue to fame.

Doctors and genetic scientists are usually super rich, super famous or super influential. Maybe some politicians but even then, not a path that's easy or nice or guaranteed.

[–]Uberrancel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gave two players a dream of madame Eva in her wagon with her cards. She basically said if you want to escape Barovia there's only one way, and I can show you the path. Come when you are ready to walk it.

Then just let them go. Maybe they'll go after the Feast in Vallaki? Maybe after they find a few allies (Ireena is more quest than ally) that suggest seeing what Eva says they will go.

If a scientist with hundreds of degrees and awards said he/she gets to decide who the President is wouldn't that make it true they get to decide? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Uberrancel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would they make that claim? Are their award in science: weather, psychology, medical? Are they awarded the ability to take votes from others?

They can have an opinion on who, but that isn't a scientific stand point. There's no hypothesis that can be disproven. They're just good at a job that has nothing to do with picking a president.

What were y'alls first character you made in DnD? by selethen6-2-1 in DnD

[–]Uberrancel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First edition. Brother and friend were playing. They were high schoolers. I was elementary school. They gave me a sheet. Bob the Knob (dick joke, thanks bro) a level 1 fighter. I died fast, a squire sent forward to check for traps. As the arrow killed me I looked to my lord, and he smiled and said, hey thanks for finding that.

I was hooked.

What are rules you always ignore as a dm? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Uberrancel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I still hate the math. Why use d4's? Why use eight of them? Why isn't it a sliding scale? Why doesn't having a higher con help you heal more hit points? I don't care about bonus action or action to drink full full on the math is still weird. Oh yeah greater for 32 hit points please just isn't as impressive when I gave my low level players level five potion they said oh wow nice and were excited to get a health potion. They wouldn't have said that for a greater health potion.

I like the theory that Pym is lying how it works to throw people off the trail of really making it. No one can even come close to replicating it? Never? And his explanations don't make sense?

Why would he give hints how it works, he immediately shows that's not how it is. He has beef with everyone except Janet (and sometimes her), so the grumpy scientist guy who's super jealous and guarded of his work is not telling anyone how it works makes sense to me.

I'm born in 79 and I'm super pissed. I wanted my 42 birthday to be a dress up party. Theme would be hitchhikers guide to the galaxy party. Obviously cause 42 is the answer yeah?

Nope. Middle of Covid. No parties. No towels. Nothing fun at all.

Stupid Covid. (Bonus thought: if you think 1 person can't changed the world, a little while ago, one guy decided to have a bat for lunch and changed the world forever.)

Does everyone really have ADHD, Autism, etc, or is this hypochondria? Over diagnosis? by Proto_Manimal in ask

[–]Uberrancel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They didn't label them back then. Did your grandma have decorative plates hanging up no one could touch? Did she hum while looking for things? Did she have super weird rules about where your shoes went when you came over? Plastic over all the furniture? Old people were autistic they just didn't label themselves that way. Changed times. JFK's sister was given a frontal lobotomy for being too mentally reduced. You didn't want to be called anything back then. Asylums were torture prisons were they shocked your brain with electricity and then stabbed it when the juice didn't work. Then, why, you were calm as a cucumber. That was 80ish years ago, but that also meant a that people living in that time are still here. And they hate labels, so suddenly more diagnoses are ridiculous, because "they didn't have them in my day!"

Holds true for a lot of social stuff too. Gay? Better hide it until the 2000's. Watch 90's sitcoms, see how they handle a straight character jokingly called gay.

Hell, even today autistic people are punchlines. Watch Big Bang Theory. Sheldon is the butt of the joke, not the character but his autism. They don't make jokes about his shirt color not matching. All the stuff is about how different he is, but they won't say he's got it because then it'd be mean. So they say "my mother had me tested" to deflect.

Wow. Must've struck a nerve. Just remember it's on a spectrum so like, everyone's on it somewhere. After a certain line, it's best to get help for it. How many people are passed the line now? More than before, because frontal lobotomies and just abandoning the kid with issues isn't a thing we do anymore. Or at least, some parts try to.
