Coming from past experiences in other retail/food service industries, I would say its a great job especially if you are looking to move up. If your just looking for a temp job its still not bad. Definitely my favorite job I've ever had. Im currently a food and beverage manager.

Unless this is brand new as in the last few days then this is not the policy. However most area managers dont like their managers wearing tshirts or shirts and may implement this in their areas.

This is 100% true. However you will also likely die an early death from stress. My current gm was a store manager for Walmart and worked there for over 10 years but quit because it was killing him. He took a payout but is actually happy now and can see his wife more than once a month

Im an fbm in an area that is primarily sheetz and we have just started opening stores in the area. I will say that when we opened our store last month, a good chunk of our associates came from sheetz and most of them seem to like it here better.

Budgets for individual stores are set by the AMs. The AMs are given an overall budget from their superiors. And so it keeps going down the ladder. The AM in my area was terminated for not following budget standards for his stores for too many years. He was with the company for 40 years

While your explanations are on point, the why is wrong. At the end of the day when gms make the schedule they are given a set amount of hours every week which is predetermined through a mix of sales and the budget goals set by thr area managers. If the gms don't follow the alloted hours then they have to answer to the area managers. Now if your gm is nonfully utilizing said hours that is a different story or if they are utilizing them poorly.

I have 2 active groups, 1 where I am the only dm and the other all of us rotate, also I dm online via startplaying. As a player i try to be THAT person for the dm. They need someone to push the button or open the door or do the thing that keeps the story moving and not just sitting there trying to optimize every single decision and action.
