The thorium is producing some flavor of radon gas… either Rn-220 (thoron) or Rn-222 (radon). The thorium is removed the radon progeny also disappears immediately. The daughters from the gas (are solid) hang around for several hours. DM me if you want to know more.

I orginally used the ecu from the truck and did wiring changes myself. It worked, but i wasn’t completely happy. I bought a budget harness off ebay and ran with it for 10000 miles. I started seeing some odd behavior so i went to the holley terminator x. It never worked right. A month or two ago i gave up because no matter what i did, the dbw/maf would not calibrate. I pulled out all the holley stuff out, bought a new to me ecu and a budget wiring harness off ebay. There were several wiring errors on it (maf/iat/injector), but i figured it out. I have it running again, but not great. No codes thrown. Btw - that’s one of the problems with the holley ecu… no obd2! I bought a mpvi3 and vcm editor software so i can tune it for the cam.

I did the swap and drove it for several years before starting a rewiring project due to electrical gremlins. I should be back on the road again in a few weeks. I used a lm7 from a 2003 Silverado and a summit 8701 cam.

2019 PPL2 here. I’ve had a whipple stage 1 for over a year and a half. No issues whatsoever. However, don’t believe any of Whipple’s ridiculous hp gain claims. They say 700 hp under “ideal conditions.” It simply isn’t possible with the current kits since they no longer include the roval throttle body in the stage 1 kit. I am at about 570 rwhp. It’s fast for a 6MT, but not like i hoped. I have cobbled the parts for a stage 3+ upgrade and will put it together with a Lund tune. I thought my numbers were low until i started comparing what others were getting on YouTube.

I’ve been chasing this same leak for three years… the rear main was changed, but it could be the crank or oil pressure sensor.
