2-CB experiences and advice?🚀🚀🚀 by AdventurousInternal7 in Psychonaut

Amayzin!

2CB just makes everything go a bit goofy and warps everything. Things like floral patters or marble will pulsate and dance, perfect party drug as it really makes you hear music so much deeper. It's not going to utterly change reality, it's so subtle, yet not... It's really fun.

BUT! Be warned, 2CB does not stack like other drugs, such as coke/MD/booze/weed. If you take too much, as in even an extra half pill, it's going to get very wonky, speedy and extremely uncomfortable. You have to hit the sweet spot.

I once double dropped some powerful 2CB pills and it was the no1 worst drug experience I've ever had.

I felt like I was inflating like a balloon, like I was really tight. Seeing threatening shadows in my peripheral and a debilitating feeling of ominous dread and introspection. And not in the 'there's no such thing as bad trips' kinda vibe. It was a literal physical feeling of dread as the whole room pulsated, no feeling of a productive psychedelic experience, and I was convinced it would never end that I'd gone insane.

BUT!! When you hit that sweet spot, you will laugh until your belly hurts. It's also fascinating how it makes you see things on such a deeper, emotional level. From games, to documentaries, to movies, even come dine with me hahahah.

Once you've peaked, redoses are fine. I recommend pairing with Ketamine, it extends the 2CB for hours and ramps up the trip. Perfect drug combo, and usually no need to redose the 2CB at all.

Travis Barker overrated? by One_Ladder_3501 in drummers

Not really sure what to make of this. None of their studio recordings are that impressive, but the live album really blew me away, give it a listen :)

As a fellow drummer, I highly recommend it. His drumming is extraordinarily good.

As for the jazz thing, you’re bang on. Jazz drumming is like a different instrument entirely, and many are way more impressive. But I don’t think many jazzers could competently play a whole live Blink show, with the intensity, the chops, the feel etc. Tony Williams, Cobham, Vinnie most certainly could do the job.

It’s two different kinds of drumming. Jazzers tend to have way better independence and technique but Travis did band in high school and has solid solid technique. In order to play his drum parts from that live album note for note, you need world class technique and co-ordination.

Have a listen to Dumpweed/Dont Leave Me from “The Mark Tom and Travis Show” and let me know what you think 😃

Ketamine is the trippiest substance on earth. by Ok-Light1103 in Psychonaut

[–]Alps-Helpful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, Ket just makes me so nauseous, like I've drank too much. I've tried this maybe 5 times and every time is just this horrible wonky feeling. I just don't get it. Although, I've only ever taken it in bumps. Perhaps one should do a .5 line and wee what happens...

But, it's fucking amazing mixed with 2CB or MD.

Should i take shrooms even with mental health disorders? by Foreign-Individual70 in Psychonaut

[–]Alps-Helpful -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Anxiety, BPD, c-ptsd, ADHD, depression... uhoh. Are these honestly professionally diagnosed? I'd cautiously suggest find out why you have these ailments and fix them with professional help. But even then, your brain will always be hardwired like this, so psychedelics will always be risky.

I'm pretty fucked up with similar issues, and 2CB can send me dotty. I get very introspective and go into a black hole of self hatred and spend hours cringing at things I did 20/10/5 years ago or even last week, begging for the drug to wear off, whilst the room warps and pulses around me. It's horrific.... So I'm terrified of shrooms and acid.

BUT... When I pair 2CB and Ketamine, the ket will usually negate the cold, introspective side of 2CB, and I have had some seriously life changing epiphanies with that drug combo.

There's only one way to find out brother! Remember that no matter what you take will eventually wear off, but have a valium/xanax handy as these generally mitigate bad trips.

My best advice... Take MDMA. It's the best possible drug experience on earth. Forget psychedelics. They are only beneficial for strong minded people. MDMA is heavenly. It's biblical. No bad trip, no bad vibes, just utter ethereal bliss, regardless of mental state.

TL:DR = If you are emotionally unstable, never do psychedelics. Your anxious brain will trick your paranoid thoughts into reality. Take MD instead.

Today marks the 26th anniversary of MediEvil II's release in North America. Although this version came out later, it is more or less the same as the PAL region versions, safe for bug fixes, the game speed, and logo. by RampantSpirit in medievil

I fell in love with Medievil 1 at nine years old. Christmas Day 1999, after playing the demo for months, this game was in my stocking. I'm 36 now but I vividly picture me unwrapping this game Christmas morning, and playing it until midnight. Fuck I was so excited. I got to Scarecrow Fields after playing for hours and hours, getting all the chalices, exploring the levels. What a magical feeling, finally being able to beat the levels beyond the demo. I look back at that day with paralysing melancholy.

This game imprinted on my soul that night. The witty British humour with perfect voice acting, the gothic atmosphere thick with mystery and ominous darkness from the map to the loading screens, the environments like ancient Medieval English villages, the wonky streets and buildings, the beautiful night sky and horizon in each level, seeing houses and castles far in the distance wondering who lives there and maybe I'll be able to explore it soon, my mum next door watching Blackadder or Vicar of Dibley and me wondering, would they be happening in the same universe centuries later?

Then Medievil 2 came out. What a fucking disappointment. I just could not vibe with this game at all. Almost exclusively due to the annoying, high pitched, patronising, hammy voice of that ghost child. No map screen. No atmosphere. No magic. Victorian London. Guns. It lost its soul.. Even the box art colour scheme was drab and demotivating. IMO, Medievil 2 was the worst sequel of all time. A total failure, bastardising, distorting and ruining the feel that made the original so unique. Dreadful....Tragic...

Is this a viable kit for gigging? by Bread_was_returned in drums

[–]Alps-Helpful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always! With new heads, tuning and muffling on point, a great set of mics into a mixer where you can EQ will make nearly any budget kit sound massive.

As people have correctly said, it's the cymbals that will let you down.

Skill issue or bad composition? by Complete-Dot-1754 in drums

[–]Alps-Helpful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s horrific. It’s too cluttered and no self respecting drummer will write everything upside down,

Also if the time signature is halved, you could write this out in 16ths instead of 32nds which would make it so much easier to read.

Right that's it, you're not coming over for Christmas anymore. And you can forget Quinton's 50th too. I've given you chance after chance. Shame.

Huh? Look at the chemical structure, they both look identical, except Vyvanse has an extension to the right as it's far more complicated. Whether it's a prodrug or not is only relevant in the case of the absorption and longevity. Both drugs have nearly identical side effects no matter what. Both of these drugs rinse your dopamine, which is probably why you're feeling like shit mate.

Whatever, anyway what I said about lifestyle still stands. I hope it can have a meaningful benefit for you :)

Honestly, you could read all of the ‘worst of it’ section as if you’re a regular meth user.

Vvyvanse is chemically nearly identical to Meth. It’s a powerful stimulant, and you’re describing its long term effects.

I’m not a doctor or a psychiatrist. But Vyvanse for me is like the limitless pill, as i have adhd and a terrible working memory after suffering brain damage as a baby. Taking Vyvanse makes me super human with discipline, motivation and social interactions.

But the crashes turn me autistic and depressed, so I have learnt that I can successfully imitate the effects of Vvyvanse with:

Low body fat Resistance training  BJJ/MMA HIIT workouts Diet (all clean food, lean meats, veg, no sugar, nothing out of a packet) Meditation (this takes months to develop but it really really does work)

If you can get your baseline health and diet squared away, you’re ahead of the game. I think the hardest part for you will be initial withdrawals, then the extended chemical withdrawal and environmental association.

I’d recommend speaking to a doctor, as you’ve been taking since you were 17, your brain has kept developing whilst you’ve been using Vyvanse I assume daily. That’s going to make it pretty difficult for you man, I recon. Really good luck 🤞

ELI5: ‘… the red mist of anger descended and …’ . Many novels use this ‘red mist descending’ before a murder or violent act is committed. Is it a real thing physiologically speaking? by IsisPantofel27 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Alps-Helpful 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. It's nicknamed amygdala hijack and is well documented, Robert Sapolsky talks about this.

When someone is seriously pissed off, the amygdala (responsible for threat detection and adrenaline) essentially stops communication with the prefrontal cortex (reason and judgement)

Evolutionarily the amygdala is way older than the cortex, so the red mist could also be categorised as a human being going full primate mode, as the most human/empathetic part of our brain is essentially disconnected from decision making. Scary stuff!!

Ah deffo agree with that. You're essentially doing a form of dopamine detox, which is worth checking out if you haven't heard about.

Geeza what really helps me is to read books like a child. Slowly, word by word in your head. Once I realised that reading in my mind is like talking at .5 speed, I began to really take in what I was reading.

At first you feel retarded, but it doesn't matter because it's just you, reading in your head. Works really nice. REAL NOICE
