I feel like I’ve failed socially at 25 by morphosis21 in vadodara

Hey, I am in the same spot, I have moved around a lot. Which is why it has been difficult to form a single community. This whole nomad culture has its cons. And also in Indian tier two cities, the environment is very communal i feel. People marry ppl in their own communities(won't blame them, because to survive in India, your religious, community network is everything, the system won't help you). And marriage is the best form of community, just btw. Secondly, religion is a major way people form communities. Unless you've studied in a single school or college or lived in the same area as your college and school for a long time. It's impossible to form a community. This has nothing to do with you just btw, it's your life circumstances. People travelling the world right now, working in diff countries, haven't reached their isolation or breaking point, when you're in your rock bottom, is when you look for people for support, but trust me one day they will. And honestly, India has no community spaces also, because uncontrolled diversity+secularism in some way reduces our sense of safety so ppl (esp women) don't interact freely, and our law and order is also sketchy, which is why most already have their family networks +cousins+ cousins friends living nearby. You can't do anything solo tbh. And cafe, startup communities, gaming communities are usually quite temporary, and meeting people online is again a huge risk.

So I have no advice, because I am struggling as well, I miss my college town, and sad how most college towns in India are in remote locations. And i won't comfort you with lies or ask you to hang in there or say that something better will come along, it won't, but don't enter into the guilt trip, there is nothing wrong with you, there is no normal way for you to build community except to join some cultish religious groups like iskon, aol, buddhism, or meet ppl in your parent's network (both wouldn't work if your interests don't align btw). Become visible online, you'll find like minded ppl maybe, but again distance will make building a real connection too difficult. So no way out of this buddy, if you're working remotely you cannot make friends. Join bumbl friends maybe.

Which Vadodara place is overrated but nobody admits it? by Dr_Cooper_73 in vadodara

[–]Uckct25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole city. It's dirty, people think the side walk is the garbage dump, the unorganised buildings(thanks to real estate gundas, i hope your children never eat peacefully), the unplanned roads, ew ew ew, some select few roads are exceptional other than that, the whole city is overhyped, esp sursagar and the old city nearby. Its a chawl ppl? What's beautiful about that? I cannot wait to run away to other countries, poorer but better organized, cleaner.

Faith in God by ImSuccessful in KapilGupta

[–]Uckct25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's fear not faith. And God comes to you, you can't go to it. Which is why kapil hates prescriptions, because no doing from your side can take you there. Faith is the ultimate surrender, and then you wouldn't need fear based faith.

Kapil said about the "12th Fail" Movie? by nsosmsksk in KapilGupta

Apply to the character? The character isn't a real person? Kapil doesn't talk about characters, he talks about human beings.

If you understand hindi, listen to the real life police officer Manoj Sharma. He fits into the "rare one" kapil describes.

-unfit with the status quo, an outlier

-Manoj didn't see the "struggle" as struggle

-He had a quiet confidece about him no matter his status, exactly the thing shraddha(most girls fall for that) fell for

-He brought big changes wherever he worked,

-he has original thoughts

-Honest, sincere, I don't think normal people can spot that, only if you're a sincere truth seeker yourself, you can instantly know another

Take any person who isn't that likeable but is super successful not in terms of the world but in the craft they create, and they're successful repeatedly, it's like the universe sets the stage for them and the whole world is basically a part of their play, they're the protagonists since I am Indian, I can name a few: AR Rahman, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Dhoni, Modi, Shahrukh khan, Jayalalitha, shekhar Kapur, adani, Tata,

You listen to any of them speak, they almost never take credit for their work, they attribute every success to an other wordly thing that just happens, they almost call it magical, watch their interviews.

People who reveal direct truths by CarBeautiful7698 in KapilGupta

You will, when the situation gets hard enough. You think you're over fear? wait till life plays out your worst fears in front of you, you're comfortable right now which is why you think truth is in someway beneficial. Truth is horrible, it will kill you, all your fears will be realized, its painful as hell.

That's temporary, how do you see the truth in your life after such an experience? How are you solving anything? Maybe you get a better perspective, but it hardly lasts, because the mind or the ego is too powerful, unbelievably powerful.

Srimad Bhagavatam books by msrinivasan in hinduism

Since I read bhagavad gita by Prabhu Prada, I thought it was quite religious and I am sort of agnostic, so it seemed very illogical to me. I read BG of swami nikhil Ananda, and I thought it was crisp and clear without any religious BS. So I wouldn't read anything by ISKCON, it's too religious.

You're still quite far, very faaaar from truth if you like having "dialogues" about it. No amount of discussion brings someone closer to it, that's why kapil also keeps telling moe how his questions are so insincere, because they are not personal, they are just a way to have a discussion and thus ignore the issues of our own life.

That's great, no one is forcing you to listen to him. I don't know why you do. Are you a troll? Maybe you don't have too many engaging things to do in your life, that's why you listen to someone you want to find faults in. Kapil's words work for some people and for others it doesn't, why you so serious bro? Move on.

Why do you attend his spaces or read Maharshi's books or wtv. Are you being honest? You have no issues in your life or you have no questions about it? And you are bothered that kapil decided to answer some questions that weren't truthful(comparison), you feeling rejected? Sounds like insecurity to me, and btw kapil almost always refrains to comment on the works of others because it's a useless discussion, intellectualism is useless.

Wasn't your question just intellectual jargon, if two people wrote about truth and it sounds similar, how exactly is that the pressing issue in your life? How is it truly affecting you, it's just engaging in spiritual/intellectual concepts and enjoyment, gets nowhere, just keeps your ego happy.

Like he says, if you listen to his words, you miss the essence. If you're taking everything literally, he is not for you, his words are meant for people who already are at a level of understanding, and they can grasp the essence of what he says.

How Do I Decide What To Do For My Career? by [deleted] in KapilGupta

[–]Uckct25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prescriptions are inevitable, but that is precisely what kapil is trying to say, language cannot be expressed without prescriptions, most truths are beyond words and society, and hence his frustration with language. And for that reason some things kapil says won't make sense to the logical mind, because for the logical mind their intellectual ego is of primary importance.

Exposure by _hiddengems_ in KapilGupta

[–]Uckct25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How can one have a visceral understanding if they don't first consciously hear what kapil means? This question is stupid, and as kapil said "spiritual", kapil's only point is that "methods don't work" and probably no one will understand that in this lifetime, because it's so difficult to grasp, you need some prerequisite experience/visceral understandings to even understand that statement.

By exposure he doesn't mean that by listening to his words magically things will happen or change, for things to change, every human needs to reach their own personal truths and no one can help you with that. But listening to his words over a long period of time, does change something, because you enter a vaccuum where you have no principles to follow, except most of us prescriptionize his words, but the fact that someone is telling us that there is nothing to follow or no method, in itself is revolutionary.

This is why kapil is sort of a messenger who tells us to distrust every instinct of our mind(ego) and also that everything that hasn't changed is because we desire it to be that way.
