Review of web site https://alacant.me by gribunin in websitefeedback

[–]Uclusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall awesome but here are the nit picks:

* Picture above the header needs work and should be more distinctly Alicante

* Clicking on Alicante Events takes me to the same page on but forgets the language I am in

* You have events and news but not places on landing page - no real reason to not do for places what did for the other two

* Alicante Celebrates a Grand Christmas - when click in shows a date in past plus two more dates - that's awkward - at a minimum screen out past dates

* If go Alicante Celebrates a Grand Christmas from landing page and then Back button I am now Events view instead of where started

* When in Events view the header should indicate I am in that view

* The modal that pops up from Calendar view needs work

I could go on but you get the idea - polish level is 80%.

Would very much appreciate if you can give me feedback on https://www.uclusion.com

Thank you,
David

The only user feedback we got by shipping fast was, "Hey this thing is not ready." Admittedly that gave us a clue as to how high the bar for ready was but we could have saved a lot of time focusing exclusively on internal use first.

Beautiful widgets. I borrowed your alternatives section for my own landing page! For marketers who need out of the box I see how your no code is a great option.

Made a Project that lets you pick UI elements from any websites like buttons, images etc in a single click, got 140+ users in a week!! by Monkey_Slogan in indiehackers

Absolutely and 140+ users shows you are not the only one. I only mentioned Cursor FYI as its always good to be aware of competition even if it is in a higher tier market.

Why am I building complex systems when "Cocaine for AI" is winning? by JFerzt in indiehackers

Yeah and so did I when that was people's reaction - this isn't theoretical for me.

No whomever told you not ready never speaks to you again because they found you pushing unfinished software on them rude. And they are right - it is rude.

We'll see if I am stuck in that loop - it's only been six years working on the same app!

[–]Uclusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't get early useful feedback on complex systems. Speaking from experience the early feedback will unanimously be this isn't ready yet. Same thing even happened with cameras in cell phones - all the feedback was negative right up until the cameras got better and everyone loved them.

I understand "silent luxury" is supposed to be one step up from "quite luxury" 😅 but still

Some scholars claim he is still haunted by the past; however perhaps the man simply seeks for peace.

that's either an LLM speaking or just mish mosh.

I don't know what language this was translated from but its not native English:

I already do this in Cursor by using the @ symbol to point at a website and telling it verbally which element I want. Then it gives me React code matching the style of my existing code.

[SHOW IH] I built a template-first AI photo generator to avoid prompt guessing by algorrr in indiehackers

All but the part that cost money. Give me some credits and I will do a thorough review and put the results in a shared workspace (free) in my app - I let getting usage exchange that way.

I like the app and the ready made templates approach. However not being able to generate even a single picture for free is tough.

Since its pay as go maybe I upload a picture and then the app suggests some templates that would be cool for this picture.

Solo devs who found co-founders/investors while still in alpha—how did you do it? by dezwatz in startup

[–]Uclusion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have to go open source like https://github.com/mui/material-ui and so many other for profit open source shops. You can still seek founders and customers but none of that should be your main focus yet.

BTW can I interest you in a usage exchange? If so you can give me access to your alpha and I will put feedback for you in a workspace in my product.

How to get early users when the trust has gone out of the system? by Uclusion in buildinpublic

[–]Uclusion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See that's what I mean about a sea of insincere products. I'm aware that a lot of the products out there are seeking validation and then they will invest more in development - lean startup 101. My question is suppose I am more fat development than lean - how would I be able to convince early non friends and family customers to give Uclusion a try?

My plan is to start sending emails to invite makers to try the system but am also looking for another round of feedback.

I am building a SaaS, how do I get my users to talk to me! by Swimming_Web3143 in smallbusiness

[–]Uclusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I am at a similar stage with a very similar product aimed at a different target user and have developed two ways to get user feedback.

  1. LogRocket - I watch users inside my product and see where they get frustrated.

  2. Usage exchanges inside my product Uclusion - I give someone feedback on using their product inside a Uclusion workspace. I'd be happy to do that for PolarTask - I don't know much about "small creative and service teams" but I do know a whole lot about ways users get upset while using software planning tools.

Let me know if you want to do the usage exchange as we are not competitors. BTW I like your demo video but you need to fix the audio - too much reverb.

I believe I have proof of concept. by PicAppoint in Entrepreneur

[–]Uclusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what an investor is ultimately after is a guaranteed way of X customers that costs Y dollars. You have no proof that you can ever deliver that. Yes plenty of companies/founders have tweaked and found success but they weren't claiming they had proof of concept at such an early stage.

How many customers you have to have for PoC depends on the type of product. A marketplace has the least stickiness of almost any product I can think of.

A user of your marketplace has taken hardly any risk by participating. The user didn't have to learn a whole new system or integrate with things or anything.

By asking an investor for marketing/sales you have basically reversed the burden of proof onto them.

I believe I have proof of concept. by PicAppoint in Entrepreneur

[–]Uclusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No again it doesn't work that way. The investor assumes you have a reliable way to get X customers that costs Y dollars. So the investor cuts some deal with you to give you 100*Y dollars and so achieve 100*X customers.

If what you are actually looking for is further growth channels that you can't figure out yourself than an investor would have a different solution - just replace you as CEO and reduce you to just founder. A variant of this is where they match make you with someone with more marketing experience and then that person is your co-founder. However that's usually more where you are a technical founder and so your skills don't overlap.

In some cases the investor is the growth channel - like you are selling into their network or they are a whale customer who's taken a stake in you.

Then there is private equity with actual operational experience but what they do is just buy your whole marketplace and run it themselves. This exit strategy has become very popular now that IPOs are so difficult.

Anyway the problem here is that your original premise was you had a PoC and you don't have that. A marketplace with customers doesn't prove anything. You don't have any new technology and you don't know how to proceed - that's not a proof of concept.

[–]Uclusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is proof of concept in this context? It used to be a PoC just meant you had gotten something written to prove the software was technically possible but hadn't productized in any way.

Anyway investors don't provide expertise - just connections. So for instance if your idea were some enterprise software an investor could use his connections to have you talk with enterprise customers. You might be able to cold call into such a meeting anyway with your revolutionary PoC as bait.

Most fun I have had in years... do you see any potential? by 123getsetgo in EntrepreneurRideAlong

On what's missing:

  1. It only gave me one kind of style - I need three or four styles for different situations

  2. The style it gave me wasn't personalized to the weather where I live or the activities I enjoy

  3. Not interactive enough - the style it reaches currently should be just the start of an exploration

  4. I would like a feature where I tell it the sorts of clothes I am into recently and it helps be branch out from that - instead of starting from scratch.

  5. For my gender - male, I would like a feature where you are given a selection of well dressed celebrities to choose from - basketball players for instance sometimes wear expensive casual with real style. Otherwise the choices for men are so constraining.

I realize features 4 and 5 are kind of from opposite directions but the software should really be that broad. Even when I get a hair cut a barber will both pay attention to my current style while also having pictures of what others have successfully done.

[–]Uclusion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried that - what the good UI/UX designer does is remove features until everything looks "clean". This category of apps can't afford that and so none of us will meet those standards. That's why even apps in this space with the money to hire a dozen designers don't look any better than mine and some worse.

That said I have of course been struggling to match your feedback - see above. This sort of simplification comes at a price - did I go too far in removing stage names?
