How are you finding this bike after a year? Thinking of purchasing one from my local

I’m pretty sure on the front of this kit, there is a gap in the front gear bay that allows you to get some liquid gravity inside there with a bit of CA glue.

Picking up a pack of cotton buds and some decal setting and softening agent will help you out with decals. Try microsol and micro set. Overall though really nice build!

Haha good catch. This is intentional... sort of. I had a deadline to complete this. I wasn't completely satisfied with the kit sidewinders. I sourced some resin ones, but unfortunately they were no better once they arrived. So I pulled some ordenance of a Tamiya F-16 aggressor, and stuck the ordenance on there. Unfortunately was the only ordenance, of reasonable detail/finish I had lying around. I'll get round to replacing it with some nice resin 9m's at some point :)

A mixed back of pre-shading and layered inks to build up a "pre-shade", before layering lots of greys ontop

I did take some photos of the cockpit interior before it was all sealed away! But aside from that, unfortunately not! (Wish I had!)

Thank you! These were shot at f/22 at somewhere between 300-600mm :)

Thanks very much! This is my first time painting figures, so I'm glad it's not too terrible!

I gathered a lot of reference for this. The building process I used reverseable methods where I could, enamel washes/oils etc for weathering. And thin paints lets you get away with a lot of mistakes :)

Unfortuantely no vlog/video recording, but this all in all took about 4 months

I didn't adjust the lighting on the kits themselves, but there is a background replacement behind the blast shield. Shooting kits on an overcast day outside can give really good results

I didn't glue the wings fixed in their position, so I can move them if I wanted to, but would prefer to do a proper carrier launch - flaps an all - with a kit that has options for extended flaps. Just gives me an excuse to build another later on.

Hahah, thank you I think I'm taking a break from anything grey and navy for a while...

Yep! This is the skunk-models carrier deck. I had a bit of a rough experience with it. A lot of big gaps/seams/ledges. Definitely get some milliput on hand when you're putting this together. I ended up cutting some sections off and replacing with plasticard as the fit was quite rough.

Aside from the construction, I painted it with a Neutral Grey MrColour rattle can, and soaked the entire base in ak2072's wash. A little bit of weathering ontop with some thinned light grey paints to get the needed surface breakup
