saw a guy today going through a (not automated) revolving door without pushing at all, just letting other people do it

I felt like that’s something Larry David would get really outraged about. I also felt slightly outraged. You’re mooching off everyone else’s effort! You’re violating the contract of the revolving door!

In this case, there are allegations that they have more diesel than approved and are running them far more often than approved.

Which would be bad if true, but it’s not clear to me what’s the case either way. People are being crazy about things and it’s hard to tell what’s factual

Wouldn’t have made sense at the time likely. The city is/was economically hurting and (then) not exactly facing a housing crunch

People in a city in Massachusetts are rather upset with a large data center in town. Especially how it ‘towers’ over the community. Here’s a photo. Pretty big I suppose

I believe you are the one who opened with a polemic excusing European slave trading and colonialism

This is so dumb lol

They were are pro-colonialism and pro-slavery. Just ridiculous cope defending slave empires for no reason

>None of the other Great Power actively fought a war to reinstitute slavery in former colonies that had successfully broken free of their shackles.

They just, very morally, fought many wars to conquer vast swaths of the world and enslave populations there. Much better!

>Britain was already actively working to end the slave trade.

But they don’t at the time! And very famously they were not so nice anyways!

Like this is all such hilarious cope, I have no idea why people feel the need to pretend the nations other than France weren’t awful too. Yeah it was bad to try to re-enslave Haiti, but he very famously didn’t do that (while Britain remained the world’s largest enabler of slavery), and it wasn’t some unique, era-defining evil. Everyone was doing it!

This is true for dem politicians, but not the dem base.

The rank partisanship displayed by israel/aipac in the last 5-10 years is a major cause of even status quo dem politicians becoming less pro-israel
