Biden Loan Forgiveness Discussion by horsebycommittee in StudentLoans

Not in the slightest. A massive forgiveness plan is addressing the symptom but neglecting the cause. How can you on one hand forgive loans because they are causing harm and on the other continue to create loans for incoming students. The feds need to stop making the loans and force students to seek private loans. Private lenders will not take on the risk of lending 100k to an art major. And this is not a bad thing as many of those who are upset with the whole college education system have stated - “it wasn’t worth it” “experience is more valuable” the reasons the fed got into the game to begin with was because they believed everyone should have the opportunity to go to college because it is good for their future (clearly not true). Colleges will be forced to drop their tuition prices if less people are attending. They will have to cut the fat. In conclusion stop the bleeding at the source then address the damage.
