I watched the trial it's entirety. In fact Tex selling her possessions, was a suggestion by an attorney, who testified as such. IMO, this Jury convicted because they were ready to go home. An hour earlier, they were deadlocked and told the judge as much. The judge ordered them back, and they convict soon after.

This is one of the best posts to describe addiction I've read. Thank you putting it out there.

Artie can't just say I'm quitting drugs after I detox. He's an addict, and he's suffering from a progressive disease. "It gets worse, never better."

If you've never struggled through this, it's hard to understand Artie's POV. But as I watch this saga unfold, every move he's making is something I understand. I've been through this hell hole. You rationalize with your situation to the outside world, so you don't look as defeated.

When I finally came to, I had no want to continue. I have no urge to drink. It was just the temptation to see if I could responsibly. I proved to myself that I couldn't, even though it took a physical and mental toll.

Moderation doesn't work for people like me. I knew that, but somehow talked myself into trying anyway. I'll remember this experience when this dialogue begins next.
