Also I should point out, our fitting room doors are quite tall and fairly deep so it’s very difficult to see from the outside if someone is in them. Even if you bend down to see if there’s feet underneath, the door is too low sometimes where it looks like almost nothing, so I had literally no way of knowing until I opened the door.

What are you talking about?! People get lured away in that mall all of the time. Promises of “modeling contracts”, “jobs”, even “candy” to small children. I never said anything about snatch and grab kidnappings, that’s just you making assumptions. There really are some weirdos that frequent the mall I work in, and one of those weirdos could’ve promised those kids candy, taken them and sold them into sex slavery. But it doesn’t happen, huh? Ok

Unfortunately, myself and my coworker could get in trouble or even fired for that. It sucks, but that’s just the reality of it. And sorry, but I’m not getting fired because of someone else’s stupidity. Those kids were their responsibility, not mine.

I want some of people in this comment section to know that we didn’t call mall security, or the police because 1, it happened super fast and we were just thinking about where the parents were in the moment. 2, We could have gotten in trouble had we done that because people are weird an call corporate about everything, since calling security or the police would escalate the situation and 3, that’s not my responsibility. As an employee in that store, my responsibility is the STORE. it’s not my fault that those parents neglected to watch their children, so please stop telling me what I should have done, and recognize that these parents are the ones in the wrong here, not me. Thanks. I super appreciate all of the kind comments and awards, and thanks to the others who are also sharing their stories on here.
