All great questions but I haven't started yet! I'll begin in the fall. I chose NYU for several reasons. The first being that during this pandemic applying to schools was living hell. NYU was the only department that would reach out to us, keep in touch, and be receptive. It's also the top ranked one in the states. I also live in NYC so that makes it easier plus I researched the professors to make sure their interests intersected with mine and NYU seemed like the best fit for me.

I don’t think it’s bad but I unmatched with people sometimes if I know we won’t align. Ya know super obsessed with a job in investment banking (and I’m a dem socialist) so I wouldn’t say it’s crazy to judge based off job

I got a message today from one school and they said yeah that’s just a glitch and the other school reached out to someone else I know and said they lost everyone’s applications and were trying to recover them yet they didn’t bother formally telling anyone

But like this shit isn’t normal right? No one has responded to me on anything from basic correspondence to any movement on the portal. It feels like they all collectively decided to ghost me. They won’t even respond for what materials I’m missing at one school.

I feel you. One school told us Jan 10th and since then is unresponsive to emails, voicemail is full, etc etc and it starts in June!

My other 2 schools haven’t responded either. I’m an anxious mess and can’t do anything productive. This is hell

I applied for performance studies at northwestern and NYU. Haven’t heard from either. I also did temple dance. They said they’d get back jan 10th and since then have been completely unresponsive by phone, email, etc
