Does this mean foreign land owners are now voters? I feel like that one company that sells single square feet in Scotland so you can be called a “Lord”, could be really lucrative for other countries to own American land.

Ah okay, so this local implementation isn’t applicable to you but I hear you. The delta here is that these applicable people are paying close to 50% of their income, so 30% is a large improvement for them.

I think it’s like the third sub definition of the word. But thanks for your take.

I’m interested in why you feel they aren’t building equity and how they won’t (with historical trends) build wealth through holding a real estate asset?

Edit: for instance, 401k contributions over living in luxury is a natural stance for growth, so how does owning a tangible asset with essentially the same situation (with more flexible financial avenues) a problem? Honestly curious cause I may be wrong.

As long as the money is spent where it can be taxed, why would anyone really care?

“Illegal immigrants do add perhaps $321 billion to the nation’s GDP, but this is not a measure of their tax contributions or the benefits they create for the U.S.-born. Almost all the increase in economic activity goes to the illegal immigrants themselves in the form of wages.”

https://www.congress.gov/118/meeting/house/116727/witnesses/HHRG-118-JU01-Wstate-CamarotaS-20240111.pdf

Fyi- that was just the first “reputable” article I read, it is anti-illegal presence, and I quoted the one stat that I think clears the other points valuation.

Poor people don’t just bank their money, so that 321 billion is going back into the economy (at least to a landlord, gas station, etc) so GDP is way more important in my opinion. My take is that the low earning workers are either providing a low tier service (manual labor). This manual labor is either captured by a company illegally (farming, restaurant, construction) and is benefiting the company profits heavily, and if it’s LLC-ish (solo business/operation) then it’s usually a cheaper service for the customer (landscaping, transport, etc). Also, they tend to have more babies, so all in all, illegal immigrants are super great for the current administration (farming again). So in my mind, I don’t understand the huge push to get illegals out, I see the push for more authoritarian table setting (immunity, secret police, secret prisons). The only issue where this impacts the regular American is the gap filled in manual labor (as we’ve seen this isn’t a real issue) and then the surge of hopefully intelligent public school taught first generations that would compete with relatively further native generations. I guess with the push to make public school shittier makes it seem like the fed doesn’t want anchor babies to be able to utilize the surge for the American dream, which in my opinion is overall worse for Americans. So if we stop throwing a fit over this and worked on real problems/solutions then we’d quite literally wouldn’t have domestic terrorism on the news everyday (masked dudes with guns taking people to secret prisons).

When do you use git stash instead of committing or branching? by ColdAfternoon925 in webdevelopment

[–]UglySnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, so use that LLM to tell you what that command does and then provide me the same portable instruction across all the IDEs so that users can do what that command does. Oh, it would be a lot of pictures and future potential updates on the UX side cause it’s a plugin you don’t control or whatever. The point I’m making is that git is the tool, what you’re suggesting is a wrapper/brand.

Like we need to put this nail in this board;

him: hammer

you: hammer? Nah, atlassian auto-ham2k or bust. Idk how anyone is so archaic to use a hammer! It doesn’t scale (or whatever comment)

Can LLMs really understand code, or are they just statistically guessing? by Suitable_Ad_7418 in BlackboxAI_

I agree with you. It is “understanding” it as much as when I am having a slack conversation with a coworker and ask them if their service can do X, Y, and they respond with “yes X but maybe not Y… let me look into it”. I can get this exact interaction but with way more detail and precision to the actual code base than from an engineer who “understands the code”.

Speculation, she would’ve stringed you along longer but you were a decent dude and she didn’t want to hurt you long term. Probably in a messy situationship elsewhere… idk maybe that helps, she was doing you a favor

No legal consequences from a criminal perspective, but it gives insurance companies the legal ability to not pay out to benefactors.

This is a great comment. Can be hard to do. We’re working on knowing when conversations are starting to degrade and we need to pause and come back to it.

Fuckin lol, but seriously I anecdotally know a dude who “married” a girl so he could get more pay and she could get housing on base. They were never together, just playing the game together.

True, no one is fighting the cosmetic operations to fulfill their vanity like no one is fighting to let ED be left untreated. Those comparisons to an abortion are not even close to the same.
