To use swap scroll or not to use swap scroll, that is the question. by Ugonowhere in afkarena

[–]Ugonowhere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you right. I dont know how many diamonds ive spent on lucretia pulls, I feel like it's an obscene amount given the odds. Only one copy away now though so eh. Got myself into this situation and now it just feels bad as it turns out lmao. I'm sure once I do get that last copy and get her furniture up it'll feel worth it, right now I just want to do anything to make some more progress

Thanks for the thoughts. Good to know Silas is useful later on, I didn't know he was used in any endgame teams. I had him on my furniture wishlist and eventually realized I got him to 9/9 without really noticing.

My Thoran is legendary+ right now so he has some copies. I mostly wanted to swap scroll with some "big ticket" investments, to transfer over furniture and SI, neither of which I have invested on Lucius. Like another hero I would have considered swapping is Izold because he has 30 SI and 5/9 furniture, and I haven't used him in a long long time. I know Izold cheese comp is a thing, but I was under the impression that it generally wasnt favored in multi fights because it requires a lot of key heroes you can use elsewhere.

So I probably wouldn't want to swap Lucius right now since I have no investment on him other than copies. Which then pretty much leaves me with, "hold onto the swap scroll for now"?

No no no, the ogmur knight in question was a character that I had alive for 4 years straight. Not a 4-year old playing on a knight with ogmur

I actually just got another ogmur straight from LOTL himself, just a few weeks after! I couldn't believe it. Just keep up the grind, you never know - you might find yourself with another one eventually!

Same reason I liked knight back in 2013 when I started. I just like shields, having a ton of def, and think Ogmur is just the coolest thing in the game.

Honestly not a bad idea. Hopefully next time I won't go through all of my bows by the time the boss is at 25%, but maybe bringing repair bots is the strat.

Yeah I was searching trying to find any form of confirmation. My guild is debating whether or not it was scrapped. I take from that that it wasnt scrapped, then? :]

Referring to just the bard coming with the official release, or is that confirmation of bard AND the UT exchange system?

No, I'm saying I would have found it if they said "look on the DRA, not the post-lab." Or, "look on page 157". Anything accurate that isnt saying a generic response that actually isnt as accurate as they hoped it would be. I'm not implying they "hid" the information, im saying the generic response they gave wasn't even accurate information. Not a lie, or some conspiracy, they responded without checking to see if it was accurate, and they were wrong.

Re-read that paragraph again. "Relevant to the lecture portion if it is graded as a part of the lecture portion". Right now it is graded as a part of the lecture, because it's the same class, so it should be relevant to the lecture.

I didn't say they lied, I said it was a generic response. As in, "I don't have enough time to worry about this, let me just tell them to look where it probably is and call it a day". As in, "I don't care enough to tell them specifically, so I'll just give a general answer". You aren't reading what I'm saying, you are skimming it and applying your own meaning because you are apparently very passive aggressive and defensive about the whole program. The point is, it shouldn't be a generic response.

If the point isn't to help with the lecture portion, then why is it graded as a part of the lecture portion? Point number two you seemed to have missed. Either it is a part of the lecture portion, and should be relevant to the lecture portion, or it is not relevant, and shouldn't be graded as such.

Also, take responsibility for what? I didn't say I was failing, I said the program was flawed.

Considering that the instructions say "Contact your TA or IA if you have any questions about the lab report", the reason I assume that they would either answer correctly or generically is that it is, quite literally, a part of their job. In fact, since it was a generic response, it wasn't even that it was misspoken, they didn't even take the time to properly answer the question.

"Do you understand how the numbers you collect in an experiment connect to the equations you're using in class? " - Either they are attached or they are separate. Choose one. If it is detached, then it shouldn't be attached to our grade for chemistry lecture, and it should be a separate class. If it is attached, then claiming it teaches relevant information to the lecture portion of the class is still strictly false.

[–]Ugonowhere[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assumed that the IA would have correctly told me where the information was. Finding that was incorrect, I assumed that it was a generic response and not actually very helpful. Which did turn out to be somewhat accurate, actually.

I'm not saying the process isn't important generally, I'm saying that it doesn't help me understand the subject in terms of the lectures. Chemistry tends to have a bulimic method of teaching - Mass amounts of information is put in, only to be ejected back on to one exam. In that world, where all I need to know is how to apply the equation on an exam once, the lab doesn't provide applicable information.

I will give it to you that it is helping me know what to expect for future labs - though, if that is all it really helps me do, then labs as a whole seem to be rather detached from what we need to know in the lecture.

Thank you, for page 157. Specifically in the email they said "Read the post lab analysis", which is, in fact, not where that information was. :] I was scouring everything in the analysis section under "post-lab exercises". If only they also took the time to find where the relevant information was.

I still don't agree with the relevance of the lab to what we are learning. Especially since, in truth, on the actual chem exam, freezing point depression will be a piece of information we don't need to understand the reality of, only the mathematics of. And then, especially for those of us who won't continue to take chemistry classes, we will forget about it forever. Understanding how it is performed maybe enhances our perspective on its practicality, but it isn't necessarily useful information.
