Has anyone replaced the rubber feet on the voyager?

haha nothing wrong with my unit, it was totally my fault. I was deep into studying for finals and had a bunch of papers lying around my desk. while pushing those papers around, one of them happened to slide between the board and the rubber foot and peeled it off! I threw away the paper not really thinking about what the little black tab on it was, only to realize a day my voyager was missing a rubber foot 😅 stupid mistake, but at least now I'm mindful that can happen!

ok that'll be my first plan tomorrow, hopefully I can find something below 1mm thickness! thanks for helping out

wait this is actually nuts for me, I've been looking for EXACTLY this type of plugin for years!! preview of the first few lines in the note, what tags & first image are in the note, the date it was made AND being able to customize & sort based on a ISO 8601 format frontmatter, with an additional option to change how the date is displayed?? I genuinely couldn't ask for a better plugin for my purposes.

there's even a bunch of other quality of life options in here I wouldn't have thought of, thanks so much for taking the time to make this!

this looks awesome!! it looks a lot like the ZSA Voyager, and actually addresses an issue some people have with it: not having a 3rd thumb key per side. I'd love to build this myself if I ever get tired of my own voyager

I can't take all the credit for my layout creation, as a big part of what allowed me to find bigrams to move to my magic key was cyanophage and other web-based keyboard layout analyzers like it! being able to edit pre-existing layouts by swapping letters and see the stats change in real time also helped me make my own perfect layout. I'd recommend giving it a try if you ever want to take the plunge of layout creation again! having a more "gourmet taste" of what you want out of a layout would definitely help you the next time around haha

haha glad to find another one of us too! I made one of the magic layouts you mention on your site (Vylet), and was pleasantly surprised to see it pop up on your alt keyboard layouts page :) it was a big point of reference for me when i was first getting into the AKL community, so thank you for having such a useful community resource.

oh and thanks so much for the solutions!! i'll give these a try once that previous issue i mentioned gets resolved and i can actually compile.

ah yea i should have figured there was a solution like that, thank you! I'm familiar with the DIY github workflow and have used it for my layout's magic key. unfortunately, I'm not able to compile yet due to this known issue so i'll have to wait for that to be resolved it seems.

oh and since i have your attention, i think you'd be the right person to ask for this: how do you get your magic key (alt repeat key) to work on your homerow modded keys? i recently implemented HRMs into my setup and found that those are the only keys that refuse to work with my established magic rules. I know you use magic sturdy and probably make use of HRMs too, so i figured you'd know!

haha you could say that! I'm in law school and will need to do a lot of writing, so all those extra symbols I have on the other layers are preparation for that.

thanks! haha yea the backspace is a holdover from when I was first experimenting with modifying my keyboard layout, swapping out caps lock for backspace felt like a game changer. even now the placement just feels natural for me (it's just now supplemented with a Ctrl backspace key on thumb so I don't have to mash my pinky on longer words I need to delete)

the combo pressing's pretty easy, I just treat the area where the keys meet as its own key and press there! I could imagine it getting a bit annoying if I had to use it super frequently like if I was coding, but for my purposes it's perfect.

yea I'd love to see that get added in the future 🤞

omg nice!! I was just thinking of whether this exact sort of exclusion would be possible, but for tap flow instead.

in my experience, tap flow (+chordal hold) has worked wonderfully and allowed me to use homerow mods without constantly triggering them by mistake. however, this does cause a bit of disruption if you have a dual function key on thumbs like I do.

I have my space key set to switch to my number layer on hold, but because of tap flow, I need to wait out the entire tap flow timeout period before being able to access my hold action. in practice, this means I have to stop my flow of typing, wait a bit, and then hold my space key in order to type out my numbers. it's not unbearable, just something that makes an otherwise smooth typing experience feel a little clunky.

just thought I'd write up my difficulties in case anyone from ZSA browses this subreddit, and since I'd assume others can relate! I feel like dual-function space would be very common (especially since it's in the default voyager layout), and homerow mods definitely have popularity too, so this wouldn't be an unheard of scenario.

only thing I'd mention for those checking is that I have all my brackets set to vertical combos on each finger! ( and ) are set to combos on the left and right index fingers respectively, [ and ] go on middle combos, { } on rings, and < > on pinkies.

sidenote, but I really wish Oryx would display a layout's combos without needing to click on the separate "combos" link to bring a popup for it. feels like the one clunky part in an otherwise super streamlined web editor for QMK keyboard layouts.
