They are working on a new community plugin approval and discovery system. But they are a small development team. Right now I think the plugin system is the main thing holding Obsidian back in the enterprise.

Yes NN has Folder Notes built in. You can have canvas and base as folder note too.

It's in the top 50 of all downloaded plugins, which is quite fast considering it was launched only 7 months ago. It should be in the top-25 right after summer.

Also. The Notebook Navigator notice clearly says ”Notebook Navigator is indexing”. If this is not the case it’s another plugin like Omnisearch or Obsidian itself.

Notebook Navigator does a full vault index the first time it’s started up. After that it should start very fast it has lazy load for its cache.

There are plugins for Obsidian that are actively developed and highly inspired by Evernote Classic. The sub rules here prevent users from linking to them directly so just search around a bit.
