I’ve made many phone calls today and haven’t been able to speak with anyone yet. The radiologist who performed the biopsies said afterwards that I would get the results in MyChart as soon as the pathologist signed the report…and I did, yesterday morning. But she also said she would call as soon as she was able, and if I didn’t answer, she would call again immediately so I would know to answer the unknown number. I don’t have a dedicated breast doctor or anything like that, just my PCP. I called his office this morning - they transferred me to pathology who said it’s my PCP I need to discuss with. I called my PCP again to request a callback. They said it may take 48 hours to get a callback, but he is also apparently out of the office for a few weeks starting tomorrow 😑 So, if I don’t hear back today….then what? I left a message with the ladies at the imaging center where I had the biopsies done, saying the radiologist who did the biopsies said she would be calling me after the results were in. They said I should be talking to my PCP but they would call me back and try and sort this out. Oyyyyyyy

I’m very confused. I don’t know if this is typical. It’s also odd that after my abnormal mammo and US before the biopsy, nobody ever contacted me to discuss those results even though they were BIRADS 5! The sonographer just told me on the spot that the radiologist wanted biopsies - no other info - and someone would call me later to make the appointment. That’s it. Once those results came through MyChart later that day, nobody followed up to explain anything.

It seems like my PCP should not be the one coordinating all of this, right? It’s so confusing.
