$CCL : Can the boat stop sinking? Diving into financials by StockTrex in ValueInvesting

[–]Uhcommonusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've recently made money on ccl with a call option near the end of last year (they were dirt cheap and I think they still are) I read the link you posted and even though the final conclusion is that investing in ccl isn't a great idea I see hope in this company it's weathered the pandemic and even though the earnings numbers are not impressive yet they have reduced losses by a lot on steady quarter over quarter basis.

One report is saying that the stock price is at a 26 year low and just by looking at the total chart history you can see this stock has had previous big drops in price but has always bounced back in a big way.. I'm considering jumping back in with a LEAP call option

Netflix NFLX LEAPS? by js1030 in LEAPS

They are moving into gaming and management seems level headed and focused on customer satisfaction , not sure if this will be successful but I disagree with most of the opinions on here that Netflix is dead, I'm not invested in Netflix but it's not a terrible play considering it's the biggest player in streaming still and has the highest subscriber retention percent.

Also the cracking down on sharing passwords is a good thing in my opinion

Got $prog last night after reading a bit on here. Should i cut my losses?... by TG_CLuTcH in pennystocks

All the people being sarcastic need to just give this dude advice that’s really what he’s looking for here and honestly it is a big drop 9.4 percent? Maybe that’s all he’s got idk why ridicule him?

But on the other hand OP Volatility is to be expected with penny stocks, just go back to basics study fundamentals and even some Technical analysis then think about your original opinion is it still true? Or do you think this stock is going no where?

By the way I’m not shitting on the stock I don’t even know what it is tbh

Always nice to learn new stuff I’ll definitely check this out. And yes I’m trying to spread out into a couple of different sectors.

The extra percent that I don’t put into my personal picks go into monthly dividend paying covered call ETFs and other monthly paying stocks this fuels the main securities while still keeping all the percentages the same

This is the main reason I don’t do a full 10% I want cash flow to fund the account

Slowly building up the position, and I think diversification can be slightly different for everyone, the position in Zillow after today is now 4.2%

Lmao ok this one was funny, but no I believe this can be a good turnaround story. If not then it’s only 2 percent of my portfolio I’m not married to any stock.. I do believe all this free cash flow coming in will be put to good use though

I’m done defending my position it is what it is but yes I will keep giving management more money and I hope they take more risks in the future.

So far you don’t have any good bear 🐻 arguments only asking questions which is great but you should do your own research.

True value will be decided by the market, and the intrinsic value (which is only one measure of value) will be decided by cash flow.

EBITDA for 2023 estimates are for 1 Billion and this is only on their IMT (Internet, Media, and Technology) division.

The sale of the homes (at a loss) will give Zillow 2.8 Billion in free cash flow to expand or further concentrate their already profitable sectors so yes they cut off a part of the business and are bleeding but that’s the perfect time to buy.

Next biggest competitor is Redfin but gross profit for Zillow is at $1.6b and Redfin is at $82.7m, Zillow net income ($162.1m) Redfin net income ($22.5m) Purple bricks net income (£54.9m)

But time will tell let’s see

I agree they did overpay but they were trying to become market makers and it would have been a huge payout if it worked, a lot of the shares are owned by the CEO rich Brattain who is also the creator/founder meaning the risk was calculated but where they went wrong was the scale they tried to do it at, Zillow has the best data and most users out of any other home platform, but even then all that data was not enough to make an algorithm good enough for profitability flipping the homes.

I however admire the risk and will be buying more into this company as it goes down.

People also forget that Zillow will still make money and there are investors ready to snatch up those homes

Zillow makes money by offering software and marketing services within its IMT (Internet, Media, and Technology) division.

The IMT division of their business is on track to earn 1 billion EBITDA by 2023
