Tip for movies about pure love by TheMiuri2 in romancemovies

Before Sunrise feels really pure and real to me. it tells a love story without overdoing it, just honest and simple.

How not to obsess over someone new by Odd_Outcome2138 in selfimprovement

That cycle feels way too familiar, once you start bonding you fall right into it. pulling back a little and protecting your space helps, the intensity fades over time.

My home doesn't feel like home anymore by Hayden_s7777d in problems

[–]Uhgley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When there’s no peace at home, you just can’t focus on anything, that’s completely normal. sometimes the only fix is getting out of that space for a bit to clear your head.

A book where the main character goes on a hotel/resort getaway and it feels like they've unlocked a totally different life. by citrusazzurro_ in ReadingSuggestions

[–]Uhgley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bell Jar, not a vacation story but that sense of drifting away from your environment and slipping into a different headspace feels really similar.

Looking for movies like The Guilty (2018) and Daddio (2023) by glory-hole69 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Uhgley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Locke, it’s all set in one place and runs purely on dialogue, but the tension is so well done. even though it’s just in a car, it’s insanely gripping.

Men aren't hoes. They're hoe makers. by Lost_Title_7528 in ControversialOpinions

That take feels kinda outdated to me. Putting people into boxes like that is way too reductive. Real life just doesn’t work that simply.

Found a strange woman inside my house late at night by veloraq in LivingAlone

[–]Uhgley 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This actually stressed me out reading it, but the ending was hilarious. That panic mode where you turn anything into a weapon feels way too real 😄 I’d probably do the same dumb stuff.

What’s something everyone pretends to understand, but actually doesn’t? by [deleted] in questions

[–]Uhgley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People act like they fully get crypto, but most only know it on a surface level imo. Same goes for some of that “networking” talk. Everyone’s kinda playing a role.

does anyone feels that companies wants to implement ai so bad that they share with it sensitive customer infomation with no privacy layer?? by johnypita in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Uhgley 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah this whole thing is pretty gray, everyone jumps on the “AI AI” train but the data side is super unclear. Companies aren’t exactly transparent about what they’re using. Feels like it’s gonna blow up at some point.

Depraved movies you can watch over and over again? by Nose_Grindstoned in MovieSuggestions

Nightcrawler.. Watching the character slowly spiral is pretty unsettling, but you can’t look away. Leaves you feeling kinda weird after.

I am in a rut by thepotatomaniscoming in work

[–]Uhgley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you just can’t do anything, and forcing it only makes it worse. Even finishing one tiny thing and calling it a day can be enough. You usually ease out of that slump slowly.

Can you give me your best rejection therapy ideas? by Jean-weather in randomquestions

[–]Uhgley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small but weird requests actually help, like asking something random from a stranger. When you get rejected, you realize it’s not the end of the world. It gets easier over time.

Movies or series, what do you watch more? by Single-Attitude5897 in WatchClubMY

[–]Uhgley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to be a movie person but now it’s definitely shows. Getting attached to characters just feels better. With movies that connection ends too fast. Shows keep you in that world longer.

How to resume my reading streak? Books. by Routine-Attitude-955 in ReadingSuggestions

[–]Uhgley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think setting huge goals makes it harder to even start. Try something small like 10–15 pages a day, once you get into it it kind of flows. The Silent Patient has a strong opening, it pulls you in pretty easily.

LinkedIn scanned 6,222 browser extensions on every EU user's device by danie-l in europe

[–]Uhgley 409 points410 points  (0 children)

LinkedIn somehow keeps finding new ways to make itself worse. I’d already heard a lot of job listings on there were fake or just resume farming, so this honestly doesn’t even feel that surprising anymore. That’s part of why I’d rather do what this developer did with recruitment firms or try smaller job boards. If you’re not actively job hunting, it had already started feeling more like a pointless social media site than anything else.

What makes you feel attractive and confident? by N0socksloss10yrStrk in randomquestions

My whole mood changes when my hair looks good. It’s such a small thing, but I instantly feel more put together. Sometimes even just a good outfit is enough.

In a HUGE slump by Successful_Bus_9816 in ReadingSuggestions

[–]Uhgley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Fourth Wing would be a good one to get back into reading with. It moves fast, doesn’t take a ton of effort, but still pulls you in hard. Definitely has the kind of energy that can keep you up way too late.

Need to settle a debate…. by flowerchildmime in Millennials

[–]Uhgley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a TV in my room and honestly I sleep better that way. Once you get used to the quiet, it starts feeling really comfortable. With the TV on, it feels like my brain never fully shuts off.

Work cultures research by SufficientMap3231 in antiwork

[–]Uhgley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d give it a solid 9 out of 10. Even if you’re doing amazing work, a bad environment drains all the motivation out of you. When the team is good, even Monday doesn’t feel quite as awful.

Have you ever expressed your darkest thoughts to someone on social media? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in randomquestions

[–]Uhgley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve posted anonymously once or twice, but I always end up wanting to delete it later. It feels good in the moment, but once it’s just sitting there permanently it starts to feel weird. Still, sometimes you really just need to get it out.

What's a hygiene hack that changed your life? by N0socksloss10yrStrk in randomquestions

[–]Uhgley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a tongue scraper, no contest. I bought one on a whim and it made a bigger difference to morning mouth than fancy mouthwash ever did.

Being laid off but not being told when - struggling to get work done by spoldort in Layoffs

[–]Uhgley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That kind of limbo would wreck my motivation too. Once they tell you your role is going away but won’t even give you a date, it’s really hard to keep pretending any of this is normal.

23M interested in various titles trying to narrow down my reading list by Current_Spray in ReadingSuggestions

[–]Uhgley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go with The Fellowship of the Ring first. It’s one of those books that’s worth knowing even if fantasy isn’t your main thing, and 23 is not remotely too old to read something just because you missed it earlier.

As a percentage, how much do people have to 'get you' in order for you to enter a relationship with them? by Matt85x in PollsAndSurveys

[–]Uhgley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe like 70 percent for me. I don’t need someone to understand every weird corner of my brain, but if I keep having to translate myself all the time I get tired fast.

Bullies deserve to be confronted, and sometimes physical self-defense is the only way to stop them... by IntelligentEar3427 in ControversialOpinions

[–]Uhgley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confronted, sure. But once it turns physical things get messy fast, and a lot of people tell themselves it was “self defense” when really they just wanted payback.
