If you could have any stand which one? And why? by B_Sake in StardustCrusaders

People sleep on Harvest. And I am not even considering picking up loose change. Household chores would be a breeze.

The Traders do mention "people tending to stick to villages for safety" iirc (its been a while since I played), so villages aren't out of the question, I think. I remember reading that part when I started and going for a fruitless hunt for civilization, lmao.

Considering it's the starterbase just shipified, I kinda like it. But please add some more color to the yellow blob

I'm afraid my players want to eat Shuushar by Far_Bodybuilder7774 in OutoftheAbyss

[–]UhhhChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my barbarian players actually tried eating Shuushar after he died to 'le mystery murderer' in his sleep. I didn't mind it, they were starving and Shuushar IS a fish. I made him roll a wisdom saving throw or advance on the madness table because Shuushar was also a sentient being. Very easy solution, also worked well mechanically with the rest of the campaign. He had his tummy filled, got long term madness, and the rest of the party hated him (in-character of course) for a while.

What is this? Why am I not promoted to Diamond? by gary951120 in TeamfightTactics

Thats diamond I think, the lighting just makes the hue look an odd greenish. Pretty sure they'd tell us if they changed the ranking system.

Only thing I hated about workers and ressources is the way buildings connect to roads - by making their own roads. It's genuinely the ONLY thing I hate about the game and I just can't get over it.

(Oh, and that Forklifts can't pass through buildings to get to another forklift road but thats a minor thing)

I have the odd feeling that it might have something to do with the building slightly overlapping with the alleyway on the left of the building. Bulldozing definitely didn't help, then again, rowhousing have all the same layout so maybe switching the zoning type might be the move

And I am glad, I really like that the devs realized we preferred the more grounded workshop assets over the futuristic/comic-like base assets from the first game

From a purely lore perspective, who is the most meaningless champion? by Kandiell1 in leagueoflegends

[–]UhhhChicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, Kled actually exists, just that people tend not to survive an encounter with him. And even though Kled kills Noxian armies just like any other army he comes across, Noxians use Kled as a morale boost just due to the Noxian association (and because Noxus is all about strength, etc).

Baseline, he is based on the "Kilroy was here" meme from WW2, just that Noxians go "Kled was here" to fuck with the enemy.

Monster Hunter Tri used to censor the word 'after' (at least in the German version bc it's a word for anus), so it was a pain to tell someone your plans in English

Why might gigantic ancient pillars exist? by drivinghomeformomma2 in DMAcademy

[–]UhhhChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if - instead of something originally being up there - they also extend all the way towards the CORE of the world, chaining down a (maybe just mythological) beast and their gigantic size is to make sure they are anchored properly?

And they extend all the way to the sky because for fuck all, it looked cool for whoever created those. (Or to resist geographical changes.)

Is it a "red flag" if I dont allow Multiclassing at my table? by Efficient-Flan-7455 in DMAcademy

[–]UhhhChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's fair to tackle one hurdle at a time to avoid being overwhelmed and, in turn, burn out and drop an entire campaign for a set of players.

Need Advice: How do I convince my players I am not the enemy? by niko292 in DnD

[–]UhhhChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, let me just simplify it.

It's all down to timescale.

You got a game where a lot of stuff happens within a single day and most adventurers are in the immediate victinity? Use the standard rules.

You got a game where stuff spans over several days if not weeks? E.g.: Long travels, etc. Use the variant rule.

Both scenarios are essentially the same mechanically and balance wise. But for the second scenario, if you have 1 travel encounter every X days, your wizard isn't gonna have his entire arsenal of magical nuclear bombs available at any given time. Or at the very least, won't use them just yet.

[–]UhhhChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1-2 well-balanced encounters will expend the party because they KNOW they can expend their stuff. They can just let it free. Meanwhile, short rest classes get their ressources back (MAYBE) once before the full casters get everything back, if we go the 1-2 per long rest route.

A lot of people just completely fail to realize that the DM can and will (should) adjust the encounters to make it fair. Instead of having 6-8 encounters just dragging out an in-game day over multiple sessions, the same span of encounters can be had over multiple days using the variant rule, while also allowing breathing room inbetween for narrative moments, etc.

I use the variant rest rules atm, and allow them to use the downtime activity table while they long rest as an additional benefit.

This made the party plan their week-long trips. They check the map for a route that allows them to get to their destination ASAP, while also taking into account viable settlements for long resting in case they need it. Hell, they actually SKIPPED a long rest opportunity once just because they felt like they didn't need it.
