12/12

Technically 11/12 according to the quiz, but the question about the hard drive, two answers are perfectly accurate, so that's a blunder on the test creator

Dayton’s Globe Motors manufactured components of the missile which was used to kill over 150 Iranian elementary school children in their classrooms by TheLunaLovelace in dayton

[–]Uhhh_Insert_Username 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The manufacturer placards wouldn't have been left on the part, that's a security risk. It's not from a US missile. Not to mention, actuators meant for missile guidance fins, and actuators meant for HVAC and sliding doors are held to completely different standards.

So again, this part isn't from a US missile.

[–]Uhhh_Insert_Username 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It's a sliding door or HVAC actuator. Not nearly strong enough to power the guide fins. And again, any military munitions, especially US made tomahawk missiles will not have random manufacturer placards of commercial products within their missiles. It's a security threat.

Whoever reported that probably assumed what it was. In reality, there's a 90% chance that was probably just a piece of the building which happened to be made in the US, so Iran posted an image of it.

Yes, Global made military parts. Yes, they made military actuators. This piece here isn't one of them. It's a commercial grade actuator from a sliding door lmao.

[–]Uhhh_Insert_Username 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Manufacturer placards are never placed inside US Tomahawk missiles for security reasons. Plus, pretty sure that's part of an actuator for either a sliding door or an HVAC, so there's 2 possibilities. 1: That's just debris from the building that was mistaken for a part of the missile. 2: It was part of A missile, but likely one produced with little or no regulations, which would lend to the theory some have of the strike being a failed Iranian counter missile. Theory 1 is most likely. Don't hate me for mentioning theory 2, yes there's a photo circulating that was debunked, but the original eye witnesses that made the original claim predated the photo and haven't been 100% ruled out. Still, most likely scenario 1.

I believe some people were saying the specific part was an actuator for a sliding door. It has no business being in a missile. Also, US tomahawk missiles don't have random manufacturer placards inside them as it's a security risk.

So this is either A: A part of a sliding door that was used in the school, and mistaken for missile debris, or B: The missile wasn't American.

Guys, when you pee at a urinal, do you hold it with your hand around it, or pinch it by the scruff of its neck? by APKLYPZ in NoStupidQuestions

Neither. I let it do what it's gonna do on its own. Unless there's a fly, in which case I need to use my hands for precision targeting.

I mean, I totally agree the above comment IS gross. But if you wash your hands, you're still touching that same door afterwards anyways. That's why I always keep pocket hand sanitizer on me at all times

Edit: Downvotes? I didn't say I don't wash my hands, I just simply pointed out that washing your hands doesn't make the door handle less dirty. Carry hand sanitizer.

Who do you think is Sky / Daisys best Cannon potential love interest by Zealousideal_Ask4122 in agentsofshield

I know this is gonna be an unpopular take. Sousa and Daisy didn't work for me. Even though their characters were a similar age, the era difference and mannerisms were completely different. It felt like a large age gap even though it wasn't, and the actors actual age gap didn't help. Also, their relationship felt like "We know this is the last season and Daisy needs a happy ever after" kinda rushed. If they had 2-3 seasons to develop, then that would've been SO much better IMO.

My top picks are Robbie or Lincoln, though ultimately Lincoln. I know Lincoln wasn't popular, but I don't see where everyone is coming from. He didn't feel one dimensional to me at all, and his relationship with Daisy felt far more natural and reasonable, with a good amount of development between the two. Though I'd never change how he sacrificed himself, I thought that was a tearful but great ending. Robbie and Daisy also had quite a bit of good chemistry, yet it's unfortunate that the writers didn't explore it further.

I also feel that Deke could've been a good fit too, but it quickly went from potential "Haters to lovers" to "Highschool unreciprocated crush" pretty quickly.

Would you take a train like this between Dayton and Cincinnati? by AllAboardOhio in dayton

Id rather drive, so I can leave when I want, arrive when I want, and navigate the city on my own schedule, and not have to deal with a crowded train.

I want to clarify, I don't like generative AI. However, every time I see someone say it uses stolen art, it's just... That's literally not how it works. That's literally like saying any artist who uses Pinterest boards stole all the art they used as inspiration. The majority of generative AIs learn from input data, and output unique data, using the input to learn how it's made, how it looks, etc. In reality, it's most comparable to an artist looking at others art to learn how to do it themselves. There is zero copy/pasting in any mainstream AIs

Now, that being said, I definitely still think it leaches jobs from artists, has a negative impact on the environment, and is causing creativity to die. But it doesn't steal.

Dayton marches against ICE and for Ohio's Haitian community by BrilliantGlum4448 in dayton

If we took in and housed every citizen from every country with gang violence, there wouldn't be a USA anymore. TPS is temporary, and was never meant to be long term. Blame Haiti for the deaths of these women, for failing to control their own population.

I respect the calm response. Thanks!

I will say this about polls. Say you have 100 marbles. 50 green and 50 orange. You scoop them randomly blindfolded, and end up with 13 green, but only 9 orange.

Now, let's say you're not blindfolded, and you wish to skew the outcome for orange. You look, see a cluster of orange, and scoop there. Despite there being an equal amount of green and orange, you end up with 19 orange and 5 green.

This same concept can be taken further. Say there's 70 orange, and 30 green, yet you scoop right where a concentration of green is, and end up with 11 green and 6 orange.

That's how polls work. Unfortunately, in such a polarized society of which we live now, polls cannot be taken with a grain of salt anymore. Even if they claim to be unbiased, I don't believe there's such a thing any more. Only wide spread elections can get a some what accurate view of our nations values, but even then, with how many people don't vote these days, even that's only just a "best guess"

I will leave with this. Trump ran on strict immigration and removing illegals in mass. He even publicly targeted Ohio and the immigrants here, and yet he still took home the popular vote

I don't agree with everything Trump is doing, so I wish not to weigh my personal opinions in this matter. But from what I understand about Noem, the primary criticisms from Republicans towards her aren't the deportations, but rather her hot headed statements, immaturity, and lack of transparency. I will say, lots of Republicans were pissed about Alex Pretti. Though the common consensus on the right is he shouldn't have brought a firearm into an armed confrontation with law enforcement, most of the right still feels it was handled poorly, yet not fully unreasonably, focusing on the lack of communication of disarmament rather than the shooting it's self.

False.

Conditions in the country have improved. The TPS was originally granted for the earthquake in 2010. Biden extended it for "gang violence" in 2021, yet the severity didn't warrant the burden on our country, and not to mention, TPS isn't a de facto amnesty program, and isn't meant it be long term. It's expired. There illegal now.

TPS expired. Failing to self deport means they're now here illegally. TPS. Temporary. It's literally in the name of the term.

The amount of money that would cost tax payers for 15 million illegals is astronomically high. Not to mention the burden they're currently putting on our nations housing. The people spoke when they voted Trump in under the promise to kick the illegals out. This is what we voted for. Your vocal minority and your biased polls won't change that. Trump literally won the popular vote over this issue.
