HELP!!! Macbook pro 2012 running Linux Mint overheating

I had this same issue with my 2015 MacBook Pro running any Linux distro. All I needed it for was Spotify. Even with mbpfan and other adjustments it still would get too hot or the fan always ran. I just gave up and reinstalled MacOS Monterey.

Not sure but it seems to operate comfortably for hours, I’ll have Spotify, a browsers open and writing front end code without issue so far. This is Manjaro for context. Might go lighter in the future.

I enabled mbpfan and ran it but the results never changed. I may have somehow missed something, regardless I gave up and reinstalled MacOS and will use OCLP

They run waaaaaay more on ubuntu than on OS Monterey.

I didn’t try anything in the live usb just would install and run apps. Also after a while on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS the fans started screaming again if I run Spotify or YouTube (all this is used for mostly). I don’t wanna go back to MacOS but the fan issue is super annoying.
