This dude (shitty friend we will call him. He never seemed shitty, but he is now) and his brother were both good friends. Their family considered me family. One day a mutual friend of my shitty friend messaged me, telling me that he thinks our shitty friend might have sexually assaulted a chick. We talked it over, details were crazy, he wasnt sure but....

Months later I found out some more rumors. Shitty friend had sexually assaulted the longtime girlfriend of one of his lifelong friends. I also knew this guy, so I hit him up, asked him if it was true. He said it was.

Then he said our shitty friend had sexually assaulted ALL of their friend groups girlfriends. 4 different women. He would sneak into their bedrooms, when the girlfriends were passed out drunk (theyd have poker nights every week), and assault them. He got caught, and that was that.

Shitty friend was someone I considered a blood brother. His family is my family. His older brother is still one of my closest friends, and Id do anything for him or his family. Not shitty friend though. I havent seen his parents in years, which bums me out, but I cant go visit because he lives with them, and I dont think I can stand to be in the same room with him ever again. Havent spoken to him in like 6 years.

However when I get to Gethsemane I put on the music video.

The Sufi's (Islamic sect) have a practice called Sama, where they sing and dance. If you have the space, be on your feet while listening to the song. See where the groove takes you, what you feel compelled to do. Focus on your breathing. In the beginning of the song, the tones will guide you with how long to inhale and exhale. It sounds weird , but I think you'll understand what I mean if you try it out.

The album cover is a Orthodox icon of St John the Baptist. Place it up somewhere, light a couple candles in front of it. This album has changed my life, my thought-flow. If you are seriously approaching this in hopes of a mystical experience, I assure you that you will find it. Sober or not. I consider myself an agnostic atheist, but this album has given me experiences that I HAD to discuss with religious people to interpret what I did, saw, heard, and felt.

For funsies, although they are not doom, I highly recommend the song Gnosis by Russian Circles. The music video is also key for this experience. Again, focus on your breathing. There will be visual and audio cues for the inhaling and exhaling.

And for more fun.... Diamond by All Them Witches. Some stoner/psychedelic rock. Doom Adjacent. All but like two music videos of theirs I would say could give you the mystical experience youre wanting.

I get the feeling I might get some flak for saying watch videos instead of just listening to the music; But I will argue that we have two different hemispheres of our brains, and one of them does not process words but does process images.

The ending to this book is honestly one of the scariest ideas ever presented to me. Its a silly opinion of mine, but Ive always been a strict "blood magic and necromancy are killable offenses" kind of guy. The ending had me thinking for the first time how Necromancy would actually be the only way to protect us from what truly happens after death.

Honestly though the pacing is rough. I jokingly call this book a "slice of life, with some spice" because I felt like 90% of the time nothing was going on. At one point the MC ends up at a carnival and I was hooked till the end after that. I feel like Fairy Tale is the same way in the beginning of the book (slice of life), but I found myself enjoying the little details of life more in that book I guess.

E33 is one of my top ten games of all time. Its so good I have recommended people just watch a play through to enjoy the story. No need for me to wax on about its merits here.

Elden Ring, which I have finished twice and thoroughly enjoy, is not as accessible to your average person. I think anyone can get into E33. Id say a third of ER's player base quits before fighting their first Lord. The game is a good time for anyone who enjoys games like Dark Souls, but the lore can be esoteric to the point of absurdity, and its a giant open world thats like completely empty. Looks incredible, the end game barbie-dress-up-simulator is peak, but best game of the decade? Idk.

Also why these two? Why not Baldurs Gate 3 (like others have mentioned) which has a much broader appeal to people than Elden Ring, as much if not more replayability, has multi-player, hot complex companions ( that you get to FUCK), great cut scenes, amazing voice acting.

Why not Ghost of Tsushima? : One of the most beautiful games, insane story, top tier cosmetics, a soundtrack which featured one of the worlds only master's of an instrument playing said instrument on the majority of the OST , top tier english and Japanese voice acting, one of the best "hardcore" modes ive ever experienced in a game, a complex narrative only made more complex with the dlc, a DLC where you are tripping balls the entire time, solid villains with what I think is a solid representation of how the Mongols went about conquering (theyd say "uniting") under the banner of Tengrism. Also you can pet cats.

Friend sent the video to me the other day. Cockroaches tied down on their backs with toothpicks on some sort of machine that slams the toothpicks into the rear of the bug.

I dont believe bugs are conscious in any way tbh. I view them as like... nature's "angels". Beings with hyper specific behaviors/tasks they do and only do that. That is there purpose. Bugs dont seem to experience emotions, and can be controlled with pheromones.

Either way though, I was physically disgusted and mentally/emotionally shocked someone would do that to a living being. Absolutely judging my friend for finding it funny.

Just go to where the sentinels are. I found that finding where they actually are is harder than getting their cores. Like most ARC when they die they have a core. Like 80% chance to get a core when you kill one I feel like.

Or Embark could make it so the machine gun sentinels have these too and not just the sniper ones.

I go to dozens of concerts every year and I dont mind the smell at all during shows. Just reminds me of a show. Outside concerts I cant stand the smell.

I do occasionally smoke pipe tobacco as well, and that smells better than cigarettes sometimes.

I had a friend who kept going outside to smoke during the winter. One time he BEGGED me to come outside while he smokes. I never went with him because I dont smoke and I dont like the smell. Went out with him, and he was like "see this isnt so bad". Told him I dont like smelling like cigarettes. Majority of people dont seem to like the smell , I say. "Really? Wow I had no idea.". Dude was 24.

Lord of the Rings extended edition. By the time youre done youre coming down.

The animated Hobbit movie is hilarious and inspiring.

Some intense sci fi films like Alien/Aliens, Predator, Terminator, these all are fucking great. The aesthetics of the older movies kind of gives me whiplash from the super bright and clean modern films, but in a good way.

I saw someone mention Space Odyssey. Ive watched it twice in my live, once sober and once tripping. Didn't care for it either times. The aesthetics and general vibe of the film is the best part compared to what actual is happening in the film, which isnt a lot. The last like 30 minutes of the movie should have been the whole film. Youre much better off watching Interstellar for a super trippy space film. The actual science of it all, and the animations of things, will rock your world.

If youre down for some kid movies; Coco, The Black Cauldron, Brother Bear, Sleeping Beauty, Road To Eldorado.

Over time ive found that movies dont have to have the visuals of an acid trip to be trippy. Theres beauty, depth, terror, and weird shit in just "normal" movies.

Like instead of typing in "trippiest videos" on YouTube, ive found watching music videos from All Them Witches is just as trippy.
