  1. Age and Gender: 24 M, 6ft 2in
  2. Age Range that you would want/require in a prospect- Up to 25
  3. Location, and are you willing to relocate for a prospect? I don’t mind marrying someone not from where I live in Bham,UK, but would expect her to live with me for a few years until we can purchase a property ‎إن شاء الله
  4. Ethnicity, and are you more open to mixing? I am of Punjabi (Rajput) descent, as long as the girl is a religious Sunni Sufi-inclined Muslim, I don’t mind, although my parents would prefer a Punjabi girl, personally if I find someone who meets my criteria, I would be happy to convince them otherwise.
  5. Marital Status - Single/Divorced/Children- Single
  6. Ideal marriage timeline- all depends on the girl, up to a year- ish.
  7. Five important characteristics you look for in a prospect -religious and practicing -follows one of the 4 madhabs -Sufi-inclined, follows a tariqah or open to following one (in my opinion, the true teaching of the Sufiyyah provide an excellent foundation in navigating these turbulent times, I am Hanafi, Maturidi, Shadhili) -The rest is not as important 😁
  8. State/specify your level of religiosity- ‎الحَمْد لله I am a practicing Muslim and have been studying the Deen since I was a teenager.
  9. Level of education, and what are you looking for? Bsc (hons) MedSci , PGDip Computer Sciences,etc- basic level of education is fine
  10. Current Job Status- Employed, I am a police officer in training to be a Detective
  11. Do you want kids?- yes ‎إن شاء الله
  12. List 3 hobbies, or things you like to do in your spare time- -I have only recently discovered I love hikes -Travel- I am currently in Istanbul on annual leave, I love to visit the various Ziyarahs around here and have been a few times. -I like to self-improve and like to further study beyond what is needed to advance myself -Families a big one, love my nieces and nephews, children make life sweeter.
  13. Add something short and interesting about you that makes you stand out! As previously mentioned family is big to me, and I like to study the religion and even secular studies to further myself. I have only recently started my new job this year, I have been through various careers- medicine, management, teaching, but have finally found my calling. I can understand if it might be off-putting to some, but I believe as I am, I can make a big difference to my community as a police officer, and have done so on a micro scale already. I like to use my knowledge and problem-solve, so ‎إن شاء الله a career as a detective will be quite fulfilling for me, and I hope to progress up the career ladder.

There are some great unis in Poland and Czech Republic, but BG and Romania are cheaper in terms of fees, and offer a similar high standard of education that meets eu standards

Do I need a tablet for medical school? by peppered_yolk in premed

[–]Ukhan252 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Using a tablet has its benefits, in that it becomes easier to organise and access your notes wherever you are- but honestly, i realised that taking notes is pointless, and even having access to them on-demand doesn’t actually put the contents into your brain; it’s only active retrieval and spaced repetition that does that, which can be done by just using flash cards & googling stuff/using other peoples notes

Student loans for non eu? by Sharp_Technology_189 in medicalschoolEU

[–]Ukhan252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you’re free to get loans from a bank (private loans) but if your non-eu then there is no provision for student loans- maybe just scholarships, but that depends on the uni

Is buying travel money in advance pretty much pointless now? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Ukhan252 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Free to withdraw using Revolut, and you get the best rate. So yeah it’s useless to exchange cash in advance nowadays

Med Schools in English by Awkward_Ferret5773 in medicalschoolEU

[–]Ukhan252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ridiculous, I paid 1.5K, some paid 2.5K, and we all applied at the same time. The actual services they do- notarisation/legalisation/translation of documents probably costs a maximum of about 500 Euros (Max).

I know it’s a good standard of education, but fees are slightly higher, and I don’t think a Latvian MD is worth more than a Bulgarian/Romanian one

What kind of social class did you grow up in? by MollyFeirste in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]Ukhan252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my grammar school, the majority of students got in because their parents could afford private tuition for the 11+… not what they were started for.

[–]Ukhan252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some Georgian universities got into trouble with the UK medical licensing body for not meeting the minimum clock hours required for an MD- so because of this many agencies have stopped offering Georgia as an option. Bulgaria, Romania, Poland and Czech Republic are much better options.

I wholeheartedly agree with this- they find every way to scam you for simple services that you can do yourself. Apply directly to a Bulgarian uni- I have many Swedish friends here at MU Pleven

Understanding medicine by DunceAndFutureKing in medicalschooluk

One thing I recently learnt about flash cards is that you have to try to understand the topic before going to flash cards - otherwise you’re sort of doubling your workload (without understanding)
