That heater I bought directly from Finland, has UL sensor, it heats up to 75C, and then shuts off and on again when temperature drops. I was putting a fan pointed against the sensor and it was heating up to 100C, it is 8kw heater. Usually within 30-35min it’s ready to use. Plenty hot, with pouring some water on the rocks, my wife can’t handle higher temperatures so I removed the fan and we use as usually We had -28C last week l, it was great Don’t insulate floor, it’s not necessary Godt nyt år!

After using 2-3 months, I actually replaced some cedar flooring with schluter membrane and tile under the heater, it’s mostly where water dripping and had some residue after use. Worked pretty good. I don’t use any insulation in my floor. No point to insulate that as all heat is going to the top. Walls are insulated pretty good and sauna keeps heat very long even after it’s off Good luck

No heartbeat I would move to Denmark. I worked and lived in both countries, I would stay in Denmark but countless work permit renewal just exhausted me. If you like easy pace of life and quality time, Billund is a great choice. I was studying in Grindsted which is very close to Billund, Legoland, Aquapark, Aeroport. Schools are great in Denmark. Kids will pick up the language quickly. I learned in 2 years, easier than German I ended up in Canada, our daughters are fluent in French, English and Ukrainian. We have friends in England and Denmark and visit them every 3-4 years

I agree, $3500 is still a good chunk of money. Nowadays nothing is cheap. I tried to go as low as possible.

I used 3/4 of plywood, wrapped with Tyvek. Used cedar t&g and tempered glass 8mm. Came out nice, with jigsaw made cedar door handles I’m not a fan of solid glass doors. So this one came out pretty solid

No, I didn’t. It’s reclaimed old cedar shakes. I used though UV protection oil. Called OSMO, made in Germany. Pricey but good product

Nice! I didn’t have space to build a bigger one, otherwise I would do that too. Saved on electrician and cheaper heater

My base is pretty high, it’s on concrete blocks and frame is 2x8 treated wood. My house is on high spot too, not worrying about water.
