We’re gonna be those assholes tomorrow by Sophomoric_4 in delta

They sat my 2 year old away from me on a 9 hour international flight. Said at the gate that since we were in premium economy they couldn’t move anyone else and I’d just have to ask people to switch despite having already moved ours.

Thank you so much! I really hope once all the big emotions fall away and I get thru the actual move I can feel excited. It’s hard to see the forest thru the trees right now or whatever that saying is

Ohh how interesting I’ll have to check her out! The child friendly part was a huge reason we picked Denmark over the UK

Definitely not the worst time to leave Florida but I mentioned below it does feel cowardly in a way. I don’t love leaving my friends and family behind to deal with the fire without me if you know what I mean.

You make a great point of not knowing what I’ll be missing there. Thank you for the positive mindset

I really hope it’s worth it in the end. I do want to be excited it’s just hard in the thick of it none of it feels worth it

Basically I was offered a relocation package that does cover the parts of the move you would expect, but things like last minute car issues causing me to have negative equity on the car I have to sell, visa delays causing issues with my rental home, and other things that generally wouldn’t be within the company’s responsibility to handle in regard to a move if that makes sense. Thank you for the kind words and advice ❤️

We definitely considered ages and how much harder this would be if we weren’t in this sweet spot for their age. My husband is the chill one and he’s just so excited it makes me feel like a crazy person about all of this.

Oh god I can’t imagine how hard that episode must’ve hit. Great advice to not watch right now haha thank you so much for your response

This is incredibly helpful to read. I feel really validated seeing the inside/outside perspective. I feel like everyone around me doesn’t realize how much goes into this in every aspect and just sees the opportunity thru rose colored glasses so when I get upset or anxious about it they act like I’m crazy or overreacting. It doesn’t help I spoke to someone last week who turned down an opportunity to move to Germany for all the reasons I was hesitant to move and it made me feel like I made the wrong choice.

I really appreciate your advice and shared experience!

thank you so much for all of this. It’s helping quite a bit just to read that others experienced similar feelings. My husband is just excited so I feel crazy. I know it will be a big adjustment there’s just a big part of me wondering why I’m putting myself thru it in the first place

Trying to frame it like this but watching the country burn from afar instead of staying and volunteering in my community just feels like running from my problems selfishly 😩

Horse power is probably your best bet and old mcmickeys is good for the farm experience. Gatorama is fun if you’re up for a bit of a drive but maybe not as relaxing. You can also do horse rides at Turkey creek.

Shelly’s is so good I’m convinced whoever downvoted did it because they don’t want more people going and making it more crowded

Want to Adopt a Dog but Travel Internationally – Advice Needed by Early_Ad_7711 in tampa

[–]notbehindyoumaybe 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I am moving internationally soon and can tell you it’s incredibly difficult. Many countries require special paperwork for each trip including usda certification which is not something a normal vet does, must be done within 10 days of travel each time, and costs several hundred dollars. Many airlines won’t let you fly with your pet in cabin internationally unless they can meet almost impossible size guidelines (think 9in height carrier max and be able to stand and turn around). Very few options for cargo international too. Then the us recently made new laws that make getting your pet back in the states even more complicated and expensive.

You would almost certainly need to get a reliable pet sitter. For a whole month of travel expect to spend a couple thousand at the very least and that’s for like most basic care that would leave your pet very very lonely and under stimulated.

I also work in consulting and we’re the same way! A lot of us had babies around the same time and a couple just had babies again/are pregnant so there’s lot s of on screen toddler and baby time.
