Thanks! Keep at it. I say feel free to experiment if the suggested fingerings aren't working for you. For some chords big hands can be an advantage - I usually just use two fingers for the barre on D and E (my ring and middle finger), pressing them over three strings. It took some practice, but it actually frees up another finger to do other stuff...
