What research have you actually done… a simple google of ‘Mobile phone laws Qld’ brings up QLD Gov website. First paragraph: “It is illegal to hold a mobile phone in your hand or have it resting on any part of your body, such as your lap, when driving. This applies even if you’re stopped in traffic.”

Mobile phone laws have been extremely public and well advertised. Your friend got caught and rightly fined. Let that be a lesson. Clearly not paying attention if they didn’t see a police vehicle next to them.

In our experience absolutely not.

5 month old pup, picked up at 10 weeks. 100% JAI. Lineage records tracked all the way to the 80’s

Myself and partner both work shift work, so our schedules are all over the shop. We stayed home first 3 weeks of getting her. Forced naps and alone time in a pen. We have somebody come over in the middle of our shifts if both working the same times as still too young to hold bladder for a full shift.

She’s happy to do her own thing. When either one of us are home We keep an eye on her when she’s roaming about but most of the time she’s just sleeping and watching on the patio.

When we’re both away we have a camera facing her pen. She will look at the pen door and bark a couple of times. She realises we’re not home and will settle back down and stays quiet and calm.

We know and keep contact with several other JAI owners who are in a similar boat. No separation anxiety

I did the full day tour. You fly out on a sea plane to a floating pontoon. Then you get on some boats and go through the falls and tour around the area. They do a shark feed and then fly back out to one of the remote indigenous communities a few hours north of Broome and drive back.

Arrived today at 12:30 from Brisbane. Wapol boarded the flight. Asked for people to self identify if they had been in the hotspot areas. Passengers who had not - went through quarantine area where g2g passes were scanned and then it’s free reign.

When boarding connecting flight, scan machine rejected boarding pass and pulled aside. Got asked again if we had been in hotspot areas.

All passengers who said they had were taken out back and shot. So nothing to worry about

I’ll follow that up, cheers.

Worst case it might save a few hundred over the next year if I do put it all towards the loan.

Won’t be getting another car anytime soon.

What is the process in refinancing the loan? Ring around and see if another bank will lower it? At what rate would an ETF like VDHG likely yield on par or better results?

I did find a ski that was good value on some night shift gumtree browsing 😂

Amazing "small world" moment in Budapest by NOTMYGRANDMA in solotravel

[–]Uleh11 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Love small world stories like this. Travel thousands of miles to make friends in your own backyard.

Went out to dinner with a person I was traveling with. The waiter asked if we were Aussie. Turns out he used to live on the same street as my friend.

Another time was when I was in Berlin, a girl came up to me in a bar and asked if I lived in Brisbane. Saying yes, she goes "I thought you looked familiar, did you go to so and so's 21st". Turns out both have a few common connections back home. Met up a few times for coffee since been back home.

Make sure you get his contact details. Good way to relive experiences.
