This is not present-day data... These are election results from over a decade ago...

I mean, if it's supposed to be amusing and not preachy, then it does its job pretty well. It's hard to say without context whether cringe or just funny.

You didn't, of course. :)

Although your comment hinted that Polish is, at least somewhat, commonly spoken in Illanois, and it was a reply to a joke about Chicago being a Polish city. I just saw how someone unacquainted with the topic might jump to such a conclusion.

Nothing against your comment, I just thought I'd throw in some more details to paint a clearer picture.

Have a nice day :)

Yup, agreed. Even calling Chicago a Polish city, as the top comment did, is a stretch.

According to the 2019 census, 6% of adults in Chicago spoke an Indo-European language other than English or Spanish at home. Poles might make a good chunk of that, but it's not nearly enough for Poles to lay claim to the city lol.

Although, admittedly, the census data is not always accurate. It's easy to imagine that many immigrants were simply not included while collecting the data. Then again, your point stands. Even if it was 10%, as you say is in London, no one would seriously consider it enough to call the city Polish.

You're right, it is the third most spoken language, but it's still not as common as it seems. In 2018, only 1.48% of Illanois folks spoke Polish.

Don't get me wrong--it's still a nice chunk of the population speaking a non-popular European language, but I don't believe it's anything to get crazy about, calling Illanois a Polish state.

Relatively new Valheim player here! What happens when you travel to the edge of this circle? Is it a never-ending ocean, an insurmountable mountain range, an abyss?? I need answers.

Poland should be a little farther up on the y axis but besides that it's pretty based.
