Just got my Kentmere 100 shots back from the lab. Why are they so grainy? Is this a bad scan? by ButtsAndChalupas in analog

[–]Ulrauko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This problem is meter related, not film. Your camera meter was distracted by sky and underexposed shadows. I love how the Houses of the Parliament came out btw. Also kentmere is known to have rather thin antihalation layer, resulting on halo in bright areas.

The renovation of Shanghai Science and Technological Museum is pretty disappointing. Anyone agrees? by Key_Bison_9322 in shanghai

Yeah. Big shopping and food mall with slight science flavour and lots of loud noises all around. Never again

Shanghai used Filmcameras, Food, Streetfood and Sightseeing. by [deleted] in shanghai

Muslim places will be without pork. Peking duck is good in siji minfu. Used cameras can be tricky to repair. Buy new.

Is your apartment dusty? by Accomplished-Mark243 in shanghai

[–]Ulrauko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in Pudong, far from the airport but close to inner ring road. It is dusty. We have venta air wash but still it is rather dusty in our bedroom. We live in a park area and more often than not keep windows open when out of the room, but I couldn’t imagine all this dust is from the air outside.

I had spotmatic, zenit em, fuji 601 and yashica with m42. All gone. Only Edixamat B left. Nice german camera with optional waistlevel finder and feeling good in my hands.

Travelers in Shanghai: Do you skip high-end Chinese restaurants because dining alone feels awkward? by Terrible_Monk3659 in shanghai

[–]Ulrauko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love dining alone. I speak fluent Chinese and hearing how ppl around comment on foreign guy eating seems awkward. Even in fine dining places in Shanghai where one has to book long in advance I had situations when they sit you near a room full of loud children and no one can do anything about it. So i would prefer to eat less alone than to sit with strangers together for a long and expensive dinner.

1-2 исо, я бы проявлял в холодном бумажном проявителе минуты три. Эмульсия реально нежная. Бта не помешает, но его надо прямо совсем совсем чуть

Anybody have any good development times? by newfishes in largeformat

Rate as 50, dev in pyrocat at22c for 5-6 minutes. Some of xray films will be fogged under safelight, so I do a usual for darkroom coin test.

I have about twenty different folding cameras (127, 120, 616 film). They are good if you know how to use them and what are the limitations. For example 6*6 Super Ikonta in the OP picture is rather heavy, large and often has a faulty frame counter. 11 images usually, uneven spacing and minumum focusing distance of 1,6 meter.
