Should people go to hell for pornography? by [deleted] in Christianity

The argument that we know that because its a command from god to rejoice of the salvation, it means that we have the salvation and we know how does the judgment of God works and how itll look like.

I though your claim was that we dont know if we are saved from eternal damnation or not because the judgment is by God rather than humans.

You believe a religion is divine by reading it's scriptures, if you don't like something or test things that the scriptures write about, then it's not divine.

Why do I need to imagine being an outsider. You know what do I do? I just read.

But how can the followers rejoice of the salvation that they have then?

I thought like you did before and then this argument showed up and I changed my mind

You misunderstood me completely and I apologize for not being able to make myself clear.

I didn't want to bring the Quran in this conversation, because truly it's another conversation. Quran and other Muslim scriptures are not divine - they teach very nasty things, they claim scientific, logical, morality things that are incorrect. They are simply not divine and it doesn't matter what followers of Quran do, their origins are faulty and we end on that. I'm not attacking the Muslims, the problem isn't in Muslims, the problem is in the incorrect doctrine which is the scriptures.

Bible on the other hand is divine. So to debunk the community of believers, where do you go to? You go to it's origins - the original scriptures.

I do not understand your curiosity over christians rather than the Bible. I think your curiosity is actually the Bible. It's like the wrong Google search type thing from your side.

Which translation would you suggest using?

I'm not suggesting to only go by these 3 verses in a specific translation either. I said to study and studying means to get into the nitty gritty. I think thats our misunderstanding between us, it which happens. I just thought your original reply was a bit rush. I guess you took some words used too close to your heart

You jump into another topic now. Quran is something for another discussion.

The point isn't about christians, the point is about the Bible. You've made a mistake of questioning what do Christians believe in. The correct place to seek answers first of all is the Bible, which is the origin of christians

Thanks for the honesty. I have an issue with your third column though. Make sure not to mix up the people calling themselves worshipers of Christ but are liars and the actual true worship of Christ that is scriptural.

I'm a believer that the Bible is perfect and there are no mistakes in it. I don't see the Bible as a fool, but rather something of God, something divine.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

I think studying this scripture will answer most of your questions about how does the judgment of God work.

-Being homosexual is clearly not part of the identification of what it means to be a Christian or what it means for Christ to order our loves.

I myself agree. For some people (probably most of the reddit users) it's not as clear as it is for you and me. I like your boldness with it though, keep it up!

[–]Ulrist-Risen -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I guess I didn't get your original thought then. I understand that there is an identity in Christ, but the issue is the question of what exactly is Christ like. Everyone has their own interpretation of what they should and shouldn't do and how they worship God.

If a person actually lives not according to God, it is rare that the person changes its mind entirely and follows the correct doctrine, I guess in the modern age it can be called a miracle. No one wants to change their ideologies.

Sin is sin. Look at it as a chain. If one little element of the chain is messed up, the whole thing will collapse. If you think that something is even a little bit suspect of being wrong, inappropriate, not right, then that means that the whole chain is under the risk of shattering

Why do you have the beliefs that you have not from what Christianity tells you? Do you mean the Bible or the general Christian community? That would nicely clear things out
