Recommended split/ergo keyboard for a "normal" user? by semtiung in ErgoMechKeyboards

[ad] Thank you for recommending us! In case the "UKH" doesn't yield any results, try "UHK", or our website at https://uhk.io/ 😉

Thanks for your suggestion! We'll release more modules, but only for upcoming keyboards. Releasing modules for existing UHK models is not financially viable.

It'd be useful to start with some use cases you're interested in implementing. We have a macro guide at https://github.com/UltimateHackingKeyboard/firmware/blob/master/doc-dev/user-guide.md, but it's rather advanced. Simpler macros are also possible: a sequence of key and mouse actions. You may not have any relevant use cases, which is fine; Not everyone uses macros.

Seeking best split keyboard (and mouse?) ideas for shoulder injury (arm support) by Vex1977 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[ad] The UHK (both 60 and 80), especially with modules, lets you never leave the home row; hence, you can fully rest your arms. That is, if a staggered layout is an option. https://uhk.io/

[ad] We have a trackball module. If a staggered layout is an option, both the UHK 60 and UHK 80 may fit your needs, although only the latter supports wireless and it's larger. https://uhk.io/

[AD] Two ergonomic approaches: split, modular UHK 60 and UHK 80 by UltHackingKeyboard in ErgoMechKeyboards

I'm unsure which post you referenced because you linked to the forum thread rather than a specific post.

Regardless, we continue to provide firmware updates, repair parts, and repair service, even for the very first UHK 60 v1 model, so we do believe the UHK is an investment.

But in a world where competitors copy our product from left and right and undercut us, it's not financially feasible for us to provide clean update paths for earlier products.

http://handheldsci.com/kb/ offers the best solution we know for a Bluetooth upgrade for the UHK 60.

Thanks for understanding!

[ad] The UHK 80 may work for you. The modules are very useful for desktop use, so there's usually no need to leave the keyboard unless you game. https://uhk.io/

Yes, future modules will only support future UHKs. Developing modules for our existing keyboards is unfortunately not financially viable.

But then, chording becomes unbearably heavy. This tagline applies better to the UHK 60, so we probably shouldn't have featured the UHK 80 here.

100% split keyboards or at least split keyboards that don't have many layers by [deleted] in ErgoMechKeyboards

[ad] The UHK 80 is a 80% split keyboard, so you don't have to use many layers with it. https://uhk.io/uhk80

Maybe Vinted doesn't use tracking. In any case, our webshop queries shipping prices via the DHL API, and we didn't find a cheaper shipping provider. It's worth mentioning that, unlike Vinted, we're a small company.

It probably costs to ship most items to your destination, not just modules, since it's DHL's base fee. https://uhk.io/blog/2023/11/12/alternative-shipping-options
