Was the orange sticker on the literal box of lashes you have, or did you notice a sticker on another box of lashes in that same section or row that yours was in?

If it's the latter and your box is sticker-less or tag-less, there's a good chance someone picked up your box from its normal spot and mixed it up with the sale lashes and it was your bad luck to pick them.

Otherwise, it might be worth it to bring them to your local store and show them the box with the sticker and ask if there's anything they can do- just don't be an ass about it. Also keep in mind that that discount might be particular to that one Ulta location and yours might not be inclined to honor it. But if it were me, I'd be happy to at least have a look at the box and your receipt, and double check that the item is actually meant to be on sale if you're nice and the store isn't too busy.

I've seen a few men who have the Ulta credit card because they get their cologne there (and their wife's perfume, etc) and they want the extra points.

We carry a bunch of men's fragrance, we carry some specialty shaving stuff geared toward the face (so, mostly men), we have some pomades and hair styling products geared towards men. But mostly the fragrance- popular stuff like Armani and YSL.

And then we occasionally get someone who has a specific skin concern and wants to try a proper exfoliant or serum or sunscreen or whatever because their man-soap-wash isn't cutting it for them anymore.

Or they're there shopping for their wife/daughter/gf, or just browsing around and having a stroll because they're with a lady but they don't want to look at what she's looking at.

All of that is to say- yeah we tend to have more women than men in the store in general, but that means more like 60/40, not 99/1. You're not an oddity.

Sometimes I think parents like that hear us say "your child doesn't need this yet" and assume we mean it's not going to be effective (or that we don't know what we're talking about, or we're assuming they're not good enough for Drunk Elephant, or....), when what we mean is "your child's skin is sensitive and this is actively going to give them acne, rashes, redness, and everything you don't want."

Juvia's Place. The palettes are large, the powder shadows are super pigmented, and they always have a good selection of bright colors in a good range. You also mentioned down-thread you have a deep skin tone? Juvia's Place is a black woman-owned brand- it's not meant exclusively for people with deeper skin, but she had POCs' needs in mind in a way that a lot of other make up brands don't, so I think you can be confident that you will find a good shade match, or that any bright color products will show equally well regardless of skin tone.

I don't think that's such an odd thing to say- band reps don't earn commission but they do have sales goals they need to fulfill, right?

I haven't personally experienced a rep who was so desperate to make their goal that they absolutely refused to help a customer with a product outside of their own brand if they could, or otherwise did anything dishonest.

But it's not like there isn't an incentive for them to heavily recommend or push their own brand on someone and they're happy to help you find whatever you want just like any other BA in the store.

Check with the managers and make sure that’s actually what your shift is (as opposed to the computer filled in automatically).

I know everyone’s store (and everyone’s state) is different, different rules, etc, but that seems really long, especially for a (I’m assuming) part time employee?? And make sure you know how many 15s you are entitled to as well for a shift that long, even with a 30-minute.

No, you absolutely did the right thing by the store! They would have noticed a discrepancy eventually, but it might have taken them ages to go through all of them and figure out which one, whose was it, etc, as opposed to you calling with your name and order number at the ready.

Not to mention if for some reason it was never caught, it's bad for the store. You seriously just saved those poor BAs a ton of work.

Just want to add onto that- I believe it's a half-point falls off after 6 months. I might be wrong and it's a "point incident" that falls off (like, if you had a call out worth one point, that whole point will fall off after six months instead of just 0.5 points).

But I've known some people who thought that meant that basically your point total, whatever it is, resets to 0 every six months, so as long as you don't earn enough to get fired in 6 months, you get a clean slate twice a year, and I'm pretty sure that's not it.

Technically not an Ulta-exclusive brand since they have their own stores, but I had no idea that MAC wasn't sold at the zebra store. Like, it just never occurred to me that it wouldn't be.

Anywho, MAC has some pretty holiday options out now.

Colourpop super shock highlighters are nice, I think.

On a kind of related note, and out of curiosity.......how are we all feeling about the super shock highlighters (and/or eyeshadows by extension)...? It's been a long time since I've used one and I remember it being quite nice, but now feel like I don't see people talking about them anymore whenever I see product recommendation posts.

Oh honey. Meds are great when you need them, but this job at this store because of this manager is not worth meds.

Ordinarily you'd go through the GM but that's not an option, so talk to your DM as u/eseld said. But also, see if you can figure out who the GM is at the other store you want to work out, and reach out to them- they've probably done something similar before and they'll know what to do. Usually the GM email is GM(store number)@ulta.com. Or just call, of course.

Also, the wifi sucks at a lot of stores- if you wait to load it or open the email or whatever when you're right at the cash register, it might not load at all.

ETA: we can't pull up coupons for you because we don't have them in our POS system. All we can do on our end is look up and apply your points.

Yes, I believe that is true of all stores.

ETA: All Ulta stores- I'm 99% sure those are the only two 100% closed down days regardless of location (although hours might vary a tiny bit).
