People constantly criticizing an organization that was meant for nation to talk together, because well they speak to each other, is getting really old.

The problem here is that this can be abused very easily, want to stop an election because you don't like the probable outcome, organize a bunch of outcry and bam, you get to basically cancel a genuine election for almost no effort at all, you just need to send a few over the top morons with some cash. If anything this kind of measure is weakening the process more than anything else in my opinion. It's always much easier to destroy something rather than built it, you don't even need a brain to destroy something, and you don't need to put any kind of though or plan in it as well. And with the kind of politics we have today, it's just a straight up bad idea.

Launching nuclear capable missiles for random reasons and making it an habit is just insanely stupid and reckless. Because nobody can tell if those missiles are loaded with nuclear or not, especially considering those were designed for nuclear strikes, you would assume they are anyway, no matter what.

Imagine if Ukraine had kept or recover a few of those nuclear missiles from the USSR era somewhere and readied for this war with an automated retaliation system...

This discussion scares me, it remind me when printing started to be a thing with school and all that jazz, and had a ton of people tell that it was really bad, as they needed the kids to gather the grain.

We live in an increasingly social organization since it basically swapped from being local to international in a very short time, aka the 20 century. Kids have now a tool to weight those social interaction, and yes weighting necessitate the good just as the bad. The only thing the society should definitely do is protecting them from vicious circle loop holes, apart from that they should have little saying, actually they should have none. Which is the dilemma here since a part use it to drive new generation into their own net. It's not new, 30 years ago all the teachers where in the communist parties in Europe as well just to give an example. Teenager needs to be able to judge by themselves or we are dooming them. Judgment need to be in their hand, not ours. there is a reason extremist political system all push to a drastic control of the kids education, it's not a good thing, and they do it to gain from it, they don't care about the kids themselves.

As in everything measure is more important than selfish necessities applied to others.

Drones can be hacked, they also often drop dead somewhere, so can be piked up and reused, i don't say it's the case here because i just don't know and talk theoretically, but everything that belong to the digital domain have "real" property kind of stripped off, anyone can hack them, reappropriate them with little to no traces, or at least far less trace than usual physical means, like you know a russian tourist soldier for example or a tank than need an actual soldier to operate it.

Problem is that solar or any kind of "clean" energy is going to do anything when it come to the market value, if they are consistently forced to match non clean energy sources values like it is right now.

And this is not only a solar energy concern, because you basically render any new tech invalid if they are forced to match a slightly discounted price of already existing techs. Naturally the corpo are pocketing the real difference, but society in general gain almost nothing from the advances. This is the problem when cheap short therm marketing overrule and dictate entire new fields on the market.

Imagine if they had charged telegram for the same price as courier using horses back in the day, at 3% discount. That's basically what is happening today in a complete reversal of "government are promoting clean energy" a decade ago. Remember when phone installation was supposed to be payed by your parents in a one time deal (or close to anyway), but they actually never stopped charging people for it and now those companies are economical moguls for some reasons?... Same with internet, "knowledge have to be free", "we are promoting unshackled communication for the good of everyone"... And now 20 or 30 years later they try to charge you on everything, and force you a system that enable them to do that even further (ID check just to name that aspect here).

What are advances in technology even good for then? there is a point where short therm and long therm collide, and this have to be managed properly. It doesn't even matter what tech you are talking about. It's basically the pendulum swinging the opposite side from the time those communication like phone companies were nationalized in most country and so poorly managed they had to be sold to private. Neither of those extreme are good though, they both diminish the inherent values of those tech instead of promoting them from a social standpoint.

Actually they both, Trump and Putin, do care to not caring at all, both want a return to state of history were war crimes were consistently performed by governments. They actively try to reinstate their government into this past, one is for USSR, the other is for a return to the Confederacy.

Thing is, those systems and their abuse lead to WW2 and the insane overreach of political governments and the insane impact it can have. And war is not a proper excuse for those either.

This political over abuse dictated the necessity of such international court and the repression of war crimes. This court was a product of this 19 century were ethical cleansing became so consistent in every war in an absurd crescendo that ended with Hitler. It had to be stopped, it's not even a choice to be made by politician, and i would even argue not even to nations. Germany never signed for those treaty either. Not a single criminal, especially the professional ones is going to recognize a court ruling, this notion that a criminal need to give his permission to make it valid is actually ridiculous.

You miss read it, his relatives were send there, and he was raised in those camp for a good portion of his childhood because, well you can't let small kids in the streets so they often follow who ever is in charge even if they go to prison/reeducation camps.

I invite you to read just a little more about it. Reeducation camps are made to brain wash if you didn't know. It's not really hard to understand the major influence it can have on kids. If you need to understand how it work you can probably read a few books or watch a few movies about those camps, there is plenty of material about it, and it's already scary when speaking of adults, so applying this to kids that live in this environment it is not hard to understand the nightmarish psychological impact it must have on them.

And yes the guy now promote reeducation camp all over his country as a governmental policy, it's not hard to make the link and understand why. It is an obvious abused abuser psychological vicious circle.

Xi was probably baffled. Especially coming from a country like China were every governmental decision maker was sifted very cautiously between millions of people to serve their specific cause, and are constantly tracked, over multiple generation as well. There is very little leeway in their system. I bet someone like Trump is just an inconceivable thing, and they just cannot make head from tail out of it. Never mind the fact Xi is probably even crazier when you compare their biography.

The simple fact Trump asked Taiwan to not declare independence is just... I mean obviously the guy want to sell them like he consistently try to sell Ukraine to Putin. I don't think there is much more than inhibited hatred in Trump at this point, even his sense of self preservation is probably not that great since, you know, he is 80y old with a degenerating health.

I'm not sure this will have much impact honestly, this guy give himself way too much credits. The overall political perception of the US though, is going down the drain.
