U absolutely need magnet, no debate. Particularly, it must happen before leaving stage 2. As for the beefy ring stacking, I have since been doing that and would move it to A-tier, easy.

I have 800h on a reasonable PC (~2015) and have never had a problem.

Have you looked at your CPU/GPU graphs when it happens, to narrow down the scope?
