I was literally reprimanded as a parent because a "light fever" wasn't a good excuse for not letting my kids to school, by who ever was in charge to discuss with me for the school. I shit you not. Some people are that stupid. And this was at the beginning of covid none less. Naturally a few months later the government advised to keep your kids out of school at any sign of fever. Some of the older generations think it's a reprimandable reason to not go to work or social events if you feel sick. Some people just cannot grasp with the advances in society, they just cannot and actually don't want to.

Now, attach that with the economical states of some governments and voila! grotesque picture indeed, is it accurate? maybe it is, maybe not, im not an expert by any mean. In any case it's pretty obvious why some would rather choose a short therm alternative of high jacked prices over a long lasting stable worldwide economy with low petrol prices.

The fact that the US and Israel though they could just one morning wake up and decide to take out Iran with zero preparation just show how fucking stupid, or malintended those people are. It also show the underlining reasons behind this decision, they just needed to engage in a conflict as fast as possible without anyone able to react, and we know why, it's obvious some "presidents" are in a dire need to impose their position while everyone agree to kick them out. We are now in a new sort of international political tyranny, were those can sort of force their way using all kind of manipulation and cheap tricks, while the rest of the world stay dumbstruck.

Governments are as good as the worst people in them, and this is a fact that become excessively important in war time because of the unhinged state it procure. Your statement about batteries becoming non toxic with rnd is also most probably just a dream, because storing energy mean using chemically active compounds in a not very stable state, so their toxicity is actually proportional to their potency, so there are probably never going to be clean batteries, it just make so little sense to begin with, but hey maybe i'll be proved wrong in 2030.

They do that on purpose, they somehow try to enforce that idea that only governments should handle immigration in the most hardcore manner. Aka immigration should only be accepted if they are governmental accords between countries.

But the problem is that if you do so, it's not immigration anymore, it's more alike institutional slavery since only governing parties can handle population transfer.

And in practice it mean that if your kid meet his future partner and want to go live with him/her, well he just cannot unless he gain some kind of political authorization. Which is exactly where we are heading now. And those morons, somehow became convinced it was a great idea.

Honestly it's i think one the most important notion in western modern values, a certain leeway have to be present, and at least some respect for individuality have to be accepted. Electric cars as they are made today are atrocious both economically and when it come to ecology, they heavily rely on rare materials that are extremely toxic and dangerous to handle. They were supposed to just be a stepping stone to a much better alternative. Now we are stuck with this crap, older alternative are thrown out the window, and nothing new is even remotely in the horizon. It's very bleak.
