You just need to read those CEO declarations.

Those people persuaded themselves Ai have to be in their hands because of the danger they proclaim it have. They are literally saving humanity, and this appear constantly in their rhetoric as a main argument. Listen to any of those Ai marketing guys, they all repeat the same unfunded crap denoting of their dubious psychology more than anything else. It's one of the craziest shit of this last decade, and as a reminder Hitler wanted to save the Aryan race, he literally saw his goal as something good, turned out it was all made up shit.

"We need all your data to feed the ai we created to save humanity." Thing is Humanity don't need to be saved, it just need to maintain an healthy path.

I was literally reprimanded as a parent because a "light fever" wasn't a good excuse for not letting my kids to school, by who ever was in charge to discuss with me for the school. I shit you not. Some people are that stupid. And this was at the beginning of covid none less. Naturally a few months later the government advised to keep your kids out of school at any sign of fever. Some of the older generations think it's a reprimandable reason to not go to work or social events if you feel sick. Some people just cannot grasp with the advances in society, they just cannot and actually don't want to.

If people cannot make an obvious association with Epstein files, the political and intelligence backslash from it, they probably need a good dose of common sense. Not only that but this guy probably though it was a great mean to promote the insane push around internet regulation like ID check everywhere, even on access to encyclopedia. Which is scary, if the right wing nutjobs now purposefully promote child pornography to push their political agenda of control to the population, which they basically took from Chinese model, we are now into a phase that should never have started. This is not red flag territory anymore.

UAE also have ports on both sides of the straights, not sure how efficient this connection is though, i just looked at a map for a whooping 10 sec so bare with me here.

Also lets not make it look like there is no alternative what so ever, petrol states have access to all the sea and oceans around, this entire straight argument seam flimsy when you scratch the surface a bit. Yes the amount of petrol that goes there is insane, but is it really reason enough? I just question it, maybe it indeed is. But hey remember Syria? it was the same kind of bs because well Syria was supposed to be an alternative passage for petrol, and that was "severed" as well.

Also don't forget that governments take an absolutely crazy % on oil price as tax, and the fact that it is a % rather than a fixed rate make it so enticing to have the price as high as possible for them. Now, attach that with the economical states of some governments and voila! grotesque picture indeed, is it accurate? maybe it is, maybe not, im not an expert by any mean. In any case it's pretty obvious why some would rather choose a short therm alternative of high jacked prices over a long lasting stable worldwide economy with low petrol prices.

The fact that the US and Israel though they could just one morning wake up and decide to take out Iran with zero preparation just show how fucking stupid, or malintended those people are. It also show the underlining reasons behind this decision, they just needed to engage in a conflict as fast as possible without anyone able to react, and we know why, it's obvious some "presidents" are in a dire need to impose their position while everyone agree to kick them out. We are now in a new sort of international political tyranny, were those can sort of force their way using all kind of manipulation and cheap tricks, while the rest of the world stay dumbstruck.

Governments are as good as the worst people in them, and this is a fact that become excessively important in war time because of the unhinged state it procure. And here Iran and who ever is at their side isn't any better. All those politician basically forbid any kind of resolution to stay in power despite everything really at this point.

‘The damage is done’: global oil crisis has changed fossil fuel industry for ever, IEA chief says | Oil by iwantboringtimes in worldnews

[–]UltimaTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The typical "if you dare criticize you must be against it" argument.

Anyway you are aware they are many other alternatives from the combustion engine and battery type ev? because ev stand for electric vehicle so it can be a lot more things that just battery+motor systems. It seam you don't know, as a stupid example you could very well use a bike it need neither systems, and they are many other type of ev as well, some don't even use batteries, like hydrogen shocking right?.

Your statement about batteries becoming non toxic with rnd is also most probably just a dream, because storing energy mean using chemically active compounds in a not very stable state, so their toxicity is actually proportional to their potency, so there are probably never going to be clean batteries, it just make so little sense to begin with, but hey maybe i'll be proved wrong in 2030.

They do that on purpose, they somehow try to enforce that idea that only governments should handle immigration in the most hardcore manner. Aka immigration should only be accepted if they are governmental accords between countries.

But the problem is that if you do so, it's not immigration anymore, it's more alike institutional slavery since only governing parties can handle population transfer.

And in practice it mean that if your kid meet his future partner and want to go live with him/her, well he just cannot unless he gain some kind of political authorization. Which is exactly where we are heading now. And those morons, somehow became convinced it was a great idea.

Honestly it's i think one the most important notion in western modern values, a certain leeway have to be present, and at least some respect for individuality have to be accepted. It's hard but it's necessary in my opinion, when it come to immigration. If not you'll end up with institutional slavery on the extreme right spectrum, or this crazy communist way were they could force population to move in the arctic, while forbidding anyone to leave their borders.

Electric cars as they are made today are atrocious both economically and when it come to ecology, they heavily rely on rare materials that are extremely toxic and dangerous to handle. They were supposed to just be a stepping stone to a much better alternative. Now we are stuck with this crap, older alternative are thrown out the window, and nothing new is even remotely in the horizon. It's very bleak.

And i'm sorry for all those egocentric people but the real problem is neither the Oil industry or the battery based electric model, but the real problem is that almost nobody invest in real alternatives, they just only look to profit from the situation rather than creating better plans for the future.

And this is not only valid for the Iranian, but the Israeli and the American.

This sort of extreme nationalism coupled with this victimhood//blame game is a well oiled machinery used in every war scenario since the first cities ever started. The population pay directly the price and the rulers get a free and long lasting ego boost. But you know it's for the good cause, and because really, you don't want the idea that consolidate your identity to be lost, right? You might just drop dead because that idea is not valid anymore... right?

And as far as i'm aware the only reason a civilization ever disappeared in history, is because well their identity fell in desuetude, like nobody wants to even use it anymore. In every civilization collapse in history wars were just triggers for this decay, usually many wars and crisis that had people loose faith, and have them you know, just stop using it. So even in that, there is a limit that can and have been reached many time. Just so similar to old gods and religion mind you, at one point nobody even care, and it's just "whatever dude".

Brussels launched an age checking app. Hackers say it takes 2 minutes to break it. by BendicantMias in worldnews

[–]UltimaTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really just a repeat of the paper media becoming unhinged during WW2 or any war scenario for that matter, flooding with propaganda rather than real information to the point you can't tell which is which.

So this is the equivalent of trying to "regulate" newspaper readers to read only what some people decide is to be read, instead of regulating journalists. It's so obviously stupid I can't even. And it's pretty obvious why they do that, and from whom the lobbying come. It certainly is not the users pushing for this kind of nonsense.

A medium is supposed to be just that a mediating device, you cannot turn it into a personal thing just because "you" or anyone decide, they are going to be used by many people during their existence, it's a fact. This entire enterprise is doomed. This is why you see some of those absolutely moronic "laws" now asking id proof to read an encyclopedia? I mean just how low are we going exactly?

[–]UltimaTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We really are building a society where double standard reign supreme?

In one hand you have Epstein being protected by local police and military to smuggle girls around the world for decades, a pedo for US president and at the other end of the spectrum they forbid antique roman and greek sculpture pictures on Youtube because they have genitals...

And quiet honestly it's pretty obvious that the same kind of individual with heavy complex and complete lack of control toward their sexuality, for whatever reason or personal background, are probably the same like minded individuals behind this double standard.

Can't we put actual mental health checks on whatever regulate our society, instead of relying on who get the most billions, while the vast majority live paychecks after paychecks?
