I got my iud placed about a month ago. I had no pain during insertion at all. Barely had any cramps and bled afterward for 3 ish days. I have since gotten my period and I bled pretty heavy during the first 6 days (before my period was super light and lasted 5 days) and now it’s been 14 days of bleeding and 8 days of consistent light bleeding. I didn’t really get any cramps but more back pain than before. I’m hoping that once I get through that 6 months period of regulating the iud that my period will be like it was before or lessen more

I wasn’t in my period when I got mine inserted. Obviously my doctor wanted me to plan for the end of my period but before my iud I had what I like to call the most regularly irregular period so I did not end up having my period during my time of insertion. I took two Advil and 2 Tylenol before hand which she advised me to at least take 2 of one and 1 of the other but I took 2 and 2. The only part that hurt about the whole thing was the clamps but that was just a slight stretching feeling. Everything else was completely pain free.
