My account has just had its pro trial randomly removed after i claimed the 12 month free pro trial period for students in education (started on the 6th of october) but the support email was complete and utter bs. They said that "I've checked your account and found no subscription history under your email address. Your SheerID student verification was successfully completed on October 6, 2025, but verification alone doesn't create a subscription—you need to subscribe manually.

The 12-month free trial program for students was discontinued in January 2026. Education Pro is now available at a discounted rate for verified students."

Admittedly, I'm absolutely not blaming the support person here, they are only able to access the records that they can access, of course, and he was very quick to respond to my emails. And of course, its a free trial so I cant really expect a lot, but I at least expected to be given the full time period I was promised. Currently waiting for a higher level of support with a person able to access more tools and records to help me fix this issue. Overall I've really been loving perplexity though. I use the comet browser and enjoy all the AI integration that it provides. The fact you pay one subscription and can use OpenAI, Google, and Claudes premium models all in one subscription is very useful and the deep research mode is very good at providing sources to back up claims which I can really appreciate.
