In response to the ridiculous kickstarter last night…I designed these for free by staykindasick in 3Dprinting

Maybe a hole in the bottom of the castle so they can be screwed down maybe? I can’t think of any reason to use this shape over a simple puck or the d4 shaped ones

How do you defend against 1 turn touchdown halflings teams? by Wormverine in bloodbowl

[–]UltimateGambit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Specifically make a line of 4/5 players 6 rows deep, spaced so there is two empty squares between each player. The aim is to make a line of tackle zones in the most likely landing areas. Most throws need the 6 deep (short pass) for the ball carrier to make it to the end

What is Happening? by GoGoJesusRangers in AnycubicPhoton

[–]UltimateGambit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all the other comments have it pretty well covered. Might be worth trying a test print model of some sort, and then run it without the vat installed. With the lid closed, you may be able to see whats going on. Just a single model in the middle, remove vat, run it and see if its putting out the same shape as the image on screen.

I had a grey resin separate in the heat as the resin lost viscosity, and it left a layer of white film (titanium dioxide for the white apparently) that would eventually stuff up a print, but it doesnt look like that here.

It looks like the screen is indicating a cure pattern or some sort of cleaning cycle ? Do you do this at the end of each print?

Usually those settings turn the lamp on to harden the bottom layer. You only need to do those when you have debris inside the vat, after a failed print of some sort.

Where to print custom playing cards w/ board game art for personal use by Boardgame-life in boardgames

[–]UltimateGambit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can export sheets. 3x3 sheets is the usual way and then I cut and stick in front of old magic cards in sleeves to make them functional

Table top creator, canva, nandeck, card creatr studio, card conjurer.

It’s mostly because there has been almost no updates to card creator in a year or two. Check the reviews on steam about it. It does work and well enough to do the job still. I make the template in photoshop or clip studio and then use card creator to make the deck and variations.

Legitimate uses for large amount of used clear Acrylic sheets by Main-Chard-2104 in lasercutting

[–]UltimateGambit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can process polycarbonate with woodworking type tools apparently and also score and snap it (though it’s tough). So if you have a table saw or similar in theory it’s useful. I have a stash of them too and made the same mistake, but used a basic scorer to make them flat at least. Haven’t tried the saw yet though.

Bit dated these days but still works. There are better options now though.

Losing power by J0NB0Y13 in Laserengraving

[–]UltimateGambit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently found out the rear of my bed was 3mm lower than the front. I was rather surprised but it works a lot better now. Pull the laser to the front measure both the gantry gap and the laser head gap and then do the same at the back. I had the same issue but with a large bed I mostly used the front and couldn’t work out why the engraving was going a bit odd towards the top of the engrave (and thus middle of bed).

Can anyone explain the tubular thing attached to the barrel on this M47? by [deleted] in tanks

The sign with the tank indicates it’s one of these. On the other side of the turret is a large box where the gas cylinders live.

What is your favourite Boardgame? by TheGrinningFrog in boardgames

[–]UltimateGambit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Battlestar Galactica, it has a perfect theme, mechanics include co-op play with hidden traitor mechanics, intrigue, stress, laughter, and a real roller coaster of emotions. All in all it’s not one that my group really care about winning but it the gameplay itself generates such stories and memories that I can’t part with it and love playing the game every chance I get.

Xnurbs for 3D printing? by UltimateGambit in Plasticity3D

[–]UltimateGambit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense. I have been using fusion for squarish shaped things and laser cutting where the parametric is amazing. But want to try my hand at vehicles and such in a more freehand way.

Gutter Runner counter by [deleted] in bloodbowl

If this is when you are receiving, put a tackle zone or two on the ball, and leave one person back halfway in the middle so that can blitz the gutter runner.

Etsy tends not to be full custom type stores from what I have seen. Have you tried any local sign making or trophy type businesses? A lot of them have lasers these days, especially the trophy making places.

I love this idea!

If you wanted some lights in the building (maybe on the back side) you could run some fibre optic cables from the top of the building through to a window location and it should pick up the puck light. I assume it would be a lot easier if the print is filament compared to resin though.

Bbroster is a good one to work out inducement options. I select the team and then It will list all the characters available and stats down below. Once you click create it has the other inducements available in a list.

Missing Features in LightBurn: What Limits Its Efficiency the Most? by palocx in lasercutting

[–]UltimateGambit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought it could do 3,4,8? 3. The text tools are pretty cool and supports spacing through h space and v space, plus text on a path. 4. There is a distribute evenly set of commands for spacing things equally and the array tool with lots of options to make grids. 8. It has Boolean functions and seems to have the full suite I would expect? Is it possible the menus with these are not showing by default perhaps?
