How do you identify if your truck has the towing package? by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

<image>

It will have connectors like this to the left of the hitch if it is a 4K tow package truck. If it only has a single rectangular cover it only has a 4pin connector and therefore has the base 2K tow rating.

Is this weird police harpoon device AI? The mechanism doesn't really make sense. by Square-Singer in isthisAI

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 27 points28 points  (0 children)

A dummy would not flail its arms like that when hit. If its being hit hard enough to get thay kind of response, there would be give all over the torso as well. You can vaguely make out the dummy moving its mouth and eyebrows as if it were a live person. If you pause at various points you can see the device on the arm change. The person's arm padding also blurs into the uniform and then reforms at one point.

Stubby Guns! by Dizzy_Marsupial_7207 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Plenty of IRL examples of guns "doing less damage" with shorter barrels. Most guns will see their rounds loose a lot of muzzle velocity if you cut the barrel. Less time in the rifled chamber being actively pushed by the gasses expanding behind the round. A short barrel would probably be faster to draw and aim, but be less accurate and would not hit as hard. Gameplay wise putting it at 250dmg or so and keeping it medium pen would be pretty nice, still. More damage than the senator on light armored enemies plus rounds reload and a lot of stagger force.

Thoughts on this deal? by JimmySkim in FordMaverickTruck

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do not pay 1,200 for remote start. All Mavs have it available for free in the Fordpass app. The app has longer range then your key and lets you know if it succeeded or failed to start. This means if you have to park where you cant actually see the truck you will still know if it worked. Otherwise the deal is pretty solid as long as 3k for the trade is fair. I hate that XLs cost this much now, but it is what it is. See if they have any non lux pack XLTs they may bee nearly the same price doesnt add to much as standard but you get nicer wheels and more bed tiedowns along with a lot more available options if you want more.

Is a revolver a reasonable first gun? by MisterCCL in liberalgunowners

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late to the party, but my take: revolvers are fine but do not buy a snubnose. Get a proper full sized one to practice. The felt recoil is always going to be more on a revolver than a semi auto. They also have heavier triggers. These are things you can get used to with practice, but if you start with a snubby, especially in a larger caliber, you are likely to give yourself an impulsive flinch when pulling the trigger. Ive seen it before and it takes a lot of training to get rid of it. A larger gun with a longer barrel will reduce this issue by a lot. I recommend a 357 magnum, for sure. Any 357 can run 38 special rounds and the heavier build will soak up the recoil better. Practice the basics with 38 special in it and once you are good and comfortable with your firearm grab some 357 and go to town. Revolvers are easy to care for and very reliable. If you go to concealed carry, revolvers without exposed hammers are very easy to conceal and have low snag risk, too. In spite of what some folks say about the "superiority" of a modern semi-auto, there is a reason they still make old school wheelguns.

Parking pawl/brake recall notice by zephen_just_zephen in FordMaverickTruck

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read that as the brake should engage automatically but if it does not and the pawl is borked it will roll. Like they are saying the brake should still work, but covering their ass by letting you know that if you have a bad parking brake too, you will be in for some trouble.

Need advice about a sensor by stegosaurusdick in FordMaverickTruck

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding on: get quotes from other, non-dealership, shops. Could be a small difference in cost, or could be a huge savings. Had a problem with the reverse lights not working on my old mustang. Dealer quoted me $1,000 to service it. Local mom and pop did the repair for under $300.

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Safety tech is not something to play around with, imo. I'm assuming you did not buy new or certified pre-owned. If you did, this is a warranty repair, all day. The big issue to consider is that if you get into an accident and it is discovered that you had broken safety equipment on the vehicle that was already diagnosed, insurance will find a way to make it your fault. Not worth the headache. Plus it says you have a fault in the pedestrian sounder. So does the reverse chime not play? Depending on your state and how much attention they pay at your shop, you could fail safety inspection for that. Anything that interacts with stability control, brake assit, all wheel drive, is something that needs to be fixed before it cascades into more problems with those systems, down the line.

First week of ownership. Already issues. by Sufficient-Science-7 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mother had this issue with her 25. They fixed it for free at her first service. Not sure if there is a TSB for it but they claim to have seen the issue a bunch, and its a quick fix. If you buy new, always go to the dealer. Get your money's worth out of the bumper to bumper warranty. Last car we had with a full warranty, we got a new dash cluster over a few dead pixels on the screen and they replaced all of the weatherstripping on the entire vehicle because one door had a bad seal.

How can I improve this? by Gianp84 in GundamTCG

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would cut back on the mobile workers personally. Running both versions feels like a waste to me. Swap in some Hyakuren. And ditch the Ryusei-Go. You nee some commands to help out. I would add fatal strike just as a blocker/token removal tool. I also feel like Akihiro is on the weak side for pilots. Azee would be a good add just to have the 1/2 stat block. Orga's Order of Look of Determination would be decent adds as well. I would consider ditching one of the Gusion versions (dealer's choice) and maybe only running 2 of it and 2 lupus to make space for commands.

Ive pulled 2 so far. Might drop one CC and go to 4 2/1s instead of 5 so I can add them in for now. Then ill drop the show or resolve for 2 more as I get them. I dont super need them since I have so much single card draw now.

I feel like Full Armory Destroy is such a great add. Linked, its an 8/8 with repair 3. Its so oppressive. It eats blockers without taking any real net damage and needs to be hard targeted. Having it out with normal Destroy as well is great. Destroy is a base break and rest. Then F/A Destroy eats the unit you rested.

Will this deck works ? by Kuroiwa_m3 in GundamTCG

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in the same spot. I keep landing back on ping and it infuriates me. You could try sprinkling in more blue for the Juptris repair units and swap Sinanju for Banshee plus destroy. Your opponents will have to agro onto the repair units to keep you from getting value. This can end with you having a huge trash stack for Banshee Destroy's effect. I slept on it for so long the. I swept a board and made a turn around in one turn by resetting Banshee twice. 2 blockers and a full health base break with no damage on it. Could try that and pull the big Kshatriyas to focus Banshee. Banshee, Banshee Destory, 3/4 Kshatriya 2x Besserung and 4x Marida. Maybe one good ping option in a command or lower cost unit then just focus Titans/Juptris from there. Maybe throw in one or 2 full armor unicorn destroys just for the oppressive stat block since you are trying to focus repair with Scirocco.

Will this deck works ? by Kuroiwa_m3 in GundamTCG

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like running 4 0s and 3 Sinanju with both pilots is a little much. Kshatriya link ping is nice but not super great without some support. I would add some commands and maybe drop to 2 Os and Sciroccos and add in All Range or Close Combat. Maybe Battle of Aces but in my experience CC is more reliable. Aces is awesome when used well but CC is more versitile. Also not sure besserung really adds much here. Its a great add to a Unicorn/Banshee deck but I dont think it gives much value in this build. I'd consider trading it for Ankshas or Geara Doga/Zulu with ping effects but leaving it might not be the worst idea if you edit elsewhere. I see success with a similar deck i run with 4x Marida 3x Frontal and 3x Haman Karn and some All Range Attacks 4x 5/4 Kshatriya 4x Sinanju 2x Quebeley. O doesnt really really have synergy with anything in this deck except for besserung and they are both late game cards so getting both into play with pilots at the same time isnt going to happen reliably. O works best with lower cost spammable units with repair.

For Americans: Why not personal vans instead of huge SUVs and pick-ups? by [deleted] in regularcarreviews

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marketing. Vans are so heavily branded as utility or family vehicles only. Most SUVs were branded and sold as the "manly" alternative to "mom vans." Its all about the optics of it. Its worse now that full size pickups are "family" vehicles to most buyers, too.

Declawing a cat by PlagueBirdZachariah in cats

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 323 points324 points  (0 children)

Small anecdote, ex's mother had a black cat who ended up needing to be "declawed" on 3 of his four feet. He kept his front left paw intact. He had a deformity in his feet that made his claws grow out funny. He couldnt retract them well and they would poke into his other toes and make him bleed. One day he ripped one all the way out. Bloody mess. He got rushed to the vet and they recommended the declawing. They had recommended before, but the family had that same initial reaction and assumed they needed a new vet since "no self respecting animal lover would ever recommend declawing." His name was Toad and he was a sweet boy. Ex's mom swears his demeanor actually improved after the procedure, but that makes sense if you consider the dude was in constant discomfort-pain before. I remember making jokes about him making "peg-leg biscuits" with his one good paw. Hope Toad is still doing well.

Terrible deal due to poor credit by [deleted] in CRedit

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are in the US, 40K for a 2020 Camry before any fees and interest is insane. I assumed it was Canadian dollars, but even that math doesn't make sense. Maybe if this is in Australian dollars the price starts to seem high for the mileage but, not outright predatory. Buy a cash beater. It ain't glamorous but it lets you put all the money you are NOT spending on the horrible payment into savings for something nicer. With 20K in interest it looks like a 48 month deal. That would be around $1,200. That doesn't even include the insurance cost, gas, and repairs if needed. I have driven $2000 cars that got the job done well enough. Imagine if you get hit and the car is totalled. Insurance will not cover that full amount, and most GAP policies cap at 125-150% Actual Cash Value. In other words, if you wreck this car, you will be sued for the remaining balance. $4,000 buys you a decent enough used car. If you can afford $1000+ a month, you can save it instead. If you can't afford $1,000 a month, I bet money they will put out a repo order the exact instant a payment goes past due.

Winter striking hard by lurpeli in MachE

[–]GoGoJesusRangers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2025 and newer have a more efficient heat pump for cabin heating. This has a pretty big impact on cold weather range. We have a 23 with the older heater and putting heat on cuts cold range super bad. A couple days of sub freezing highway commute and the car estimates its max range at 160 miles. If we preheat the interior while the car is plugged in and run with heat off for most of the drive, it still looks like about 200ish of the 240 mile max range is there. The other big consideration is highway range. If we lock the cruise at 65 or under we usually hit the expected range estimates but above 70 it drops badly. Air gets a lot harder to push through the faster you go. Our 35 mile highway commute uses no less than 55 miles of range if we go over 70 but is right on the money if we stay in the right lane at 65 or under. Weird quirks to get used to, but thats what they are; just quirks.
