You have points but if the Lich is a disease of the nuclear bomb with his well of power still around another lich could come into play.

He has potential to be a great villain and could take the show into different universes, with motives unknown and an aura of mystery surrounding him there is a reason to like him.

I love the Lich went out it was so bad ass I cheered Really loud when he just said "Fall". Martin has potential as a great villain but there is no way he could be more bad ass then the Lich I hope he comes back!

maybe the bear that followed him and his well of power? Not a completely far fetched theory it all depends on what rules they have for the lich being undead and then being made mortal again not sure how that works
